I'm not a bad worker

In Chang Zhou, one of the cities in China. It's quite amazing how quiet the city is.

A popular guy lives there with his aunt. Handsome in all round. Not considered wealthy. His family of two, was among the most struggling people in the city. But his looks always found him and his aunt food on the table.

"Aunty, I think there's no life here in this city. We should move to a more popular city like Shanghai or Beijing or Chongqing, we can make more money there than allowing that asshole rain insult on you just for food" Baobao suggested.

"You silly boy. Have I ever complained about anything?" She asked.

"You mustn't complain. See, whenever I see that brat called our neighbor cussing you, I really want to go punch him in the face." He further expressed his irritation for that sly fox.

"Shush! You dare not. What do I always tell you?" She gave a questioning glare.

"Not everything is about fighting. You had me memorize that and sang it to me like a lullaby. I get it. And who said that I was going to fight. I'll just give him the piece of my mind that's all "

"Brat. Hurry up you're going to be late . Your employer won't listen to your excuse of chatting with your aunt before thinking of deducting your pay for the month." She warned.

Baobao hissed," why didn't you say so sooner?"

"You were only talking about cussing. How's that my fault?" She teased.

"Urgh!! I'll leave now, before you distract me any further " Baobao said, hurrying to the cafe where he works.

"You're three minutes late " a young man probably fighting for the same age as he said.

"Shut your mouth. You don't have to ring it to my ears"

The way he replied, was certainly not the boss. The young man clutched his hand around Baobao's neck. "You asshole, do you know how much trouble I had to take for covering up for you every single time?" He asked almost playfully wanting to strangle him as punishment.

"Ok ok. Let go of me please. I can't breathe" Baobao struggled to make the words audible.

He let go eventually.

"You bully!!! Are you trying to send me to my early grave? What would my aunt do, huh? You want her to cry a bucket because of you?" He asked massaging his neck that has reddened out from strangulation.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of her when that eventually happens. Just think about what the boss did to me. Why do you always do this to me Baobao? I'm your close friend for crying out loud" he said acting the victim as if he was the one that was strangled playfully by the latter.

"What trouble did you face again because of me?" He asked just asking for asking sake.

And as expected, he exaggerated things like as if he was beaten to death, resurrected just to receive the same or more than torture.

"What about Miss Feng?" He asked when he had had enough.

"She went on an errand."

LiYang seeming to notice the dagger glares from the pair of eyes.

"She wanted to go by herself. I'm not a bad worker you know "

Baobao still doubtful, increased it.

"You know Miss Feng crushes on that Shanghai dude that just came here to visit his family. So, she took the excuse of an errand to go peek on him, since she has to pass through that place to get there" he explained.

"Oh, that makes sense. She kinds of forget she owes this place" he added still didn't know why it had to be that way with people in love whether one sided or a returned love. They're always dramatic.

Never!

Love can never drag him to stupidity. Being dramatic enough for his cute sickly aunt is enough love. Anything other than that, is really dramatically annoying.

"Hey!!" LiYang snapped at him.

"Customers are coming. You need to act more youthful than your youthful age now. Girls drooling over you here. You can collect more than the actual price..."

"I tell them, before they pay" he reminded.

That was how it was. He always let them know of the actual price, then increase the price for them to know, but surprisingly, they weren't bothered. Some asked how much it would cost them to pay for seeing him.

"I'm envious. Whoever gave birth to you, must be a belle of her time" LiYang whispered.

"I don't know, and I don't care. All I care about is taking care of Aunt Jin and nothing more." He said, serving the iced Americano to the drooling customer.

"Don't you think you should ask about your parents? You've lived your twenty third year, without the knowledge of who your parents are.

"Father? I'm sure I don't have. But a mother?" He thought for a while. "Who would care about a bitch that abandoned her own child to die miserably?" He said not a question but a statement, and uncaring about the matter.

"Abandoned? How sure are you?"

"Aunt Jin told me that when she found me, an old grandma was severely injured she only said three words before passing. That is..."

" 'Save him' please and then pointed at a distance to people running to her direction. You were already unconscious then. You've said that before " LiYang completed.

"You remembered? Thought you'd forget. Don't talk about that any more. "

"Then, don't you want to find her and make her pay for the stress Aunt Jin has to go through for raising you?"

"LiYang..."

"Think about it. At least the scumbag of a woman will surely pay. Not even a handsome guy like you, deserves such a neglected childhood." He advised.

"Even if I wanted to, it's impossible. I don't even know her to begin with. Of course, I want to ask her why I was abandoned. Why she had to give birth to me and left me abandoned and to my death, without the care " Baobao said.

He really didn't care about the so called mother, and didn't want to know either. What he knows and want to care about, is his lovely sickly aunt whom he had accidentally seen the report she had tried so much to hide. In the report, it was stated that she just has a year to live. She had terminal cancer and after that day, he tried to mask the fact that she was going to leave him in the world to live in all by himself.

But he tried basking it with laughter. His aunt must've thought she hid it well, but to the child she raised, it was difficult finding out what he was thinking.

So, why bother worry about the woman that doesn't know of his existence; even if she knew, doesn't care at all about him. He's going to love the remaining year with his aunt and nothing more.

He had only thought about migrating to another city because, he knew that those better cities, would have more knowledge than in his city. Even if it can't be cured, but the year she'd last can be prolonged too.

"I think you should ask your aunt. She might know something" LiYang suggested unaware of the savaging though that lingered on.

"If you really don't want the strong friendly bonds we've created to die out, just this mins, then I suggest you shut up and focus solely on working and other things other than talking about a lady whom I don't know and dead to me" he warned.

"Chill bro, I was just trying to help. If you find out who your mom is, I'll help make her life miserable for you too. I'll be a good supporting friend..."

"LiYang!" Baobao exclaimed showing a scornful daggers to his beloved friend.

"Fine, fine. Alright okay? You don't have to scorn me. I'm just trying to help. I'll keep that down but that doesn't mean I'll die it down for ever." He alerted but Baobao, just ignored him.

"My cousin is coming back, have you heard?" He asked.

"Which one?"

"..."

LiYang glared at him.

"Don't give me that look. You made me memorize the names of your hundreds of cousins by force. Of course I need to ask " he defended quickly.

"..."

"But I'm serious your extended family is too extended for my beautiful memory ot cram okay?"

"Well, that makes sense." He admitted by nodding before continuing, " my dearest cousin is coming back, in a months time. But will come back earlier to check on her grandma's health to know an effective drugs to buy when coming fully next month."

"Hmm! Greet her for me "

"...*

"Aren't you going to meet her?"

"And talk about business? No, I've not yet embraced myself for it, not yet. Spending most of my days on the screen that sounds like a death penalty to me, if you ask me." He firmly rejected.

"Lazy fool, I'll fill you in with the interesting things of your taste when she returns." LiYang succumbed. He had lost all of his strength earlier discussing about his mother. He sure knows that he would lose if he decides to drag on to the matter.

And so they continued chatting about useless and useful, meaningful and un-meaningful things till their boss opened the door to let new customers as she walked inside.
