chapter 10

As I sat at the breakfast table with my new family, the morning was peaceful—at least for now.

"Hey, Eric, are you enjoying the food?" Mom asked with a warm smile.

"Yes, it's as good as always," Eric replied before turning to me.

"What about you, Axel?"

"It's good," I answered simply.

We continued eating, the atmosphere calm.

But in the back of my mind, I couldn't help but wonder what Silviya was up to.

Silviya's POV: The Battle Escalates

Both of us stood ready for Round 2.

I launched myself at high speed, aiming to pierce her with my spear.

But she dodged perfectly, touching the ground with her bare hands—and within an instant, another hammer materialized in her grip.

She moved faster than I expected, striking both above and below at my spear's handle, aiming to break it.

For a moment, I thought she had succeeded.

Then, a system notification flashed in my vision:

{Warning: Basic weapons cannot be broken or deleted to avoid softlock.}

The guild master couldn't see the message, but I could tell from her confused expression that she was wondering why my spear didn't snap.

Without hesitating, I countered, slamming the handle of my spear into her stomach, sending her flying into the sky.

Even as she soared through the air, she barely reacted—completely unfazed.

I willed wooden vines to rise from the ground, lunging at her while she was mid-air.

She dodged effortlessly.

"{Air Impact}."

The moment she spoke those words, she punched the air—and I immediately jumped away.

A fraction of a second later, the ground where I had just stood was blown open, leaving a massive gaping hole—as if an arrow had pierced a wall.

If I had been even a second late, I would have died instantly.

Now I was sure.

She wasn't playing around anymore.

Every single attack from here on would be lethal.

I couldn't hold back either.

'Forgive me, my lord, but I don't think I can comply with your order to avoid causing a ruckus.'

I raised my spear and activated my magic.

"Come forth and bury my enemies—{Nature's Call: Sea of Trees}!"

The entire ground shattered, and an endless number of trees erupted from the earth, all surging toward the guild master.

But then—

She whispered something under her breath.

"Fire that burns the world—ignite my furnace, {Muspel's Heart}."

And in a split second, the entire battlefield transformed.

The trees that had covered the land were instantly reduced to ashes, replaced by towering flames that refused to die.

The fire spread so fast that my battle senses couldn't even track what happened.

Adventurers watching from a distance started to flee, realizing the fight was getting out of control.

Even knights began gathering outside the adventurer's guild, likely preparing to intervene.

"Cough... cough..."

Smoke filled the air, and I accidentally breathed it in, my lungs burning.

Through the flames, I could see her sitting on a tree, looking down at me with amusement.

"Is that all you can do, Pointy?" she mocked.

I gritted my teeth.

But then—

The ground shifted.

She lifted her fingers, pointing at the sky.

I finally saw why.

A massive hammer loomed above me.

She had lifted the earth itself to summon it.

"{Enhancement}."

The moment she spoke, the hammer descended, crashing down with explosive force.

The impact shattered the guild building, damaged nearby streets, and sent shockwaves through the entire area.

For a moment, everything was silent.

Then, I heard her voice.

"So that's it, huh? I can't expect much from a clone."

Clone?

Before I could react, she suddenly looked up at the sky—as if she sensed something.

I followed her gaze.

It was me—Silviya—descending at high speed.

She raised her hand and activated {Muspel's Heart} again, sending flames roaring toward me.

But this time, a blue shield surrounded my body, ignoring the fire completely.

Her eyes widened slightly.

I saw my chance.

But then—

The hammer was coming straight for me.

I had no choice.

[Skill Activated: Aerial Strike]

My body instantly teleported to the sky, my hands moving on their own, aligning my spear toward the guild master.

I was falling at high speed, the world blurring around me.

She looked up just as I descended.

The flames that had burned my magic to ash in seconds were once again ignored by the blue shield protecting me.

"{Immunity during skill use}."

The moment I saw those words, I knew—

I could win.

I landed on the tree she was standing on.

Did I miss?

For a split second, I thought my attack had failed—

Then, a shockwave exploded from my body, spreading across the battlefield.

It phased through her body—and large cuts began appearing across her skin.

"{Stun applied}."

She was frozen.

I didn't hesitate.

I raised my spear and stabbed it straight through her stomach.

[Skill Activated: Vortex Rain]

My spear vanished—

And in its place, an endless barrage of spear-like projectiles rained down, piercing her body over and over again.

As I watched dozens of holes being torn through her, I was sure—

She was dead.

But then—

Her body crumbled into sand.

And before I could process it, a voice whispered next to my ear—

"Fooled you."

My eyes widened—

A hammer smashed into my face.

"{Greater Impact}."

A single moment of force—then, nothing.

The only words I heard before my mind went silent—

"Next time, face me with your real body, High Elf."

Axel's pov:

As I finished dinner and returned to my room, I suddenly received a system notification.

I ignored it for a moment, walking through the hallway, finally reaching my bed.

Sitting down, I opened the notification.

And I was furious.

{Personality Silviya has died. Can be resummoned after 24 hours.}

"That idiot."

I stared at the ceiling, irritated.

What did she do that got her killed?

I sighed.

"It seems like there's an annoying threat outside… maybe its time to summon my second general to even things out."

I opened the Player Summon description—

And saw the new change in its ability.

I grinned.

"Yes. Well then… its time for the next summon."

Tonight, a new general would be born.
