Chapter 10: Through the Looking Glass

Emily

When my eyes open, it takes me a second to figure out they’re not still closed. It’s almost pitch black, and straining to see only makes my head feel worse. My temples throb, and the spot at the base of my skull where I was hit feels like it’s on fire.

I try to put my hand back there to apply pressure, but it won’t move. I try again, but something pinches my wrists so hard I hiss between my teeth.

My fucking hands are tied together. Not only that, they’re fastened to something on the wall. Panic shoots into my bloodstream as I try to piece together what happened. It’s all a blur, but I remember being hassled by two assholes in a club. They kept touching me and laughing, and something about them wasn’t quite… human.
