Chapter 104: A Little Tenderness

Emily

I miss her already.

Before she walked onto Thomas’ private jet yesterday morning, I hugged her so hard I damn near cracked a rib. Of course sending her back to the States is the right move, but seeing her go opened up a huge hole in my chest, and I’m not sure how I’m gonna fix it.

All I’ve been able to do is wander from room to room in this mansion, waiting for the guys to get ready to mobilize. I don’t know why, but I kind of figured we’d get things moving the second Raya was gone. Okay, so maybe we’d have to wait for the plane to come back to take us to Italy, but surely after that, right?

But it’s sitting in the hangar just south of Prague, and I’m stuck here twiddling my thumbs. Is it strange to be so eager to charge head first into danger? Probably. But I’m itching all over just the same.
