Chapter 14: Noah

I never thought the search for someone to fill a position as simple as a nanny would be so difficult. It was easy for people to show up at the office claiming to be qualified and a good fit for the job, but when I asked certain questions, they fell woefully short.

I even had potential candidates sent over from several reputable agencies, but they all just felt…wrong. I couldn’t explain it, but I knew the person I chose needed to be more than just a nanny. This person would take care of Chris practically 24/7 and it was crucial I found someone that could build a good relationship with him.

Whoever was going to take care of my son, and live in my house with us, needed to give off a feeling of rightness—very much like the impression I’d gotten from the girl in the very first nanny interview. The freckled redhead. Madison. There had just been something about her…almost as if she would be the perfect fit.
