Chapter 4

Hearing Cecilia's words, I couldn't help but narrow my eyes.

Her face gradually darkened.

"It was you, you little bitch, who snitched on me and got me expelled from school, wasn't it?"

"If it weren't for you, my dad wouldn't have sent me abroad, and Cort wouldn't have been forced to marry you."

"Jefferson, do you know that I spent three whole years abroad? Every single day of those three years, I wondeCadillacthe hell ratted me out, until Cort told me the truth."

By the end, Cecilia was so angry she slammed her hand on the table.

"Becca! Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for this day?"

Even though Cecilia's demeanor was quite intimidating at the moment, I still wore a faint smile on my face.

"You're right, I was the one who reported you back then."

"But I've never felt that I did anything wrong. You were a terrible student, always getting into fights, and you even broke someone's leg."

"People like you, I'll report every time I see you. I won't show any mercy."

As soon as I finished speaking, Cecilia's expression immediately turned vicious.

"Fine, fine, fine. I just love that defiant look on your face."

", do you know why I insisted on having Cort call you back here?"

"It's not the bullshit class reunion you think it is. I only called you here for one purpose - revenge!"

Halfway through speaking, Cecilia suddenly snapped her fingers.

Instantly, more than a dozen burly men in black suits poured iCadillacprivate room from outside.

They all looked menacing, clearly professionally trained.

I leaned back in my chair nonchalantly, fiddling with the wedding ring on my ring finger.

"Cecilia, I'll give you one last chance. Think carefully."

"If you dare lay a hand on me today, you won't be able to handle the consequences."

"Even if you have the entire Lincoln family behind you, it still... won't work!"

Before Cecilia could speak, the sycophants around her immediately erupted.

"Did you all hear that just now? Becca actually said even the Lincoln family wouldn't dare offend her."

"That's the funniest joke I've heard in my life. A nightclub hostess dares to challenge New York City's Lincoln family!"

"Who is our Miss Lincoln? The top-tier socialite of New York City, crushing you would be easier than squashing an ant."

At that moment, my former classmates all united against me, bombarding me with verbal attacks.

One after another, they rushed to kiss up to Cecilia.

As Cecilia's number one fan, Cort naturally didn't want to be left behind.

"Becca, what are you yelling about? Have you looked in a mirror to see what a mess you are?"

"Forget about Cecilia, anyone here could walk all over you and use you as their personal toilet."

Suppressing the rage in my heart, I slowly took off my wedding ring.

"Cort, from this moment on, we have no relationship whatsoever."

"As for Cecilia, she'll pay the price for her actions today."

As soon as I finished speaking, Cecilia let out a derisive laugh.

"You? You dare say you'll make me pay?"

"Let me tell you something, Cort. In this city, what I say goes."

"You wanna bet that even if I beat you to death right here, no cop would dare arrest me?"

After hearing Cecilia's words, the crowd erupted in laughter once again.I looked at the once-familiar faces before me, feeling a sense of disappointment in my heart.

Is this what they call the bond between classmates?

Back in school, my grades were always far ahead of everyone else's, but I never felt superior because of it.

No matter who it was, if they had a question they didn't understand, I would patiently explain it to them.

But now, all I get in return is endless mockery and insults.

People like them don't deserve to be called my classmates!

Seeing that I didn't respond, Cecilia thought I had chickened out and held her head so high it nearly touched the sky.

"You bitch, today you either kowtow and apologize in front of the whole class, and we'll call it even for everything that's happened before."

"Or I'll have someone break your legs, and you'll have to crawl out of here."

My gaze gradually turned icy.

"Cecilia, you keep pushing my patience. Do you really think you're invincible?"

After hearing my words, Cecilia not only didn't back down, but her tone became even more arrogant.

"You little bitch, open your damn eyes and look at all these people behind me. Any one of them could beat you to a pulp."

"You're addicted to acting tough, aren't you? Today, even if God himself came down, you'd still have to kowtow and apologize!"Cecilia's excitement grew as she spoke, her saliva almost spraying onto my face.

Just then, the door to the private room suddenly swung open.

A burly man appeared in our view.

Seeing this, Cecilia quickly adjusted her collar and approached him with a fawning expression.

"Brent, what brings you here?"

Upon hearing Cecilia call out the man's name, everyone's faces changed.

Cort especially cowered cautiously at the corner.

Only I remained seated, my fingers lightly tapping the table.

The man called "Brent" scanned the room with his eyes, slowly uttering a few words.

"Whose Cadillac is that out front?"
