Chapter 36

The twigs scatered acrossg the damp earth snapping under by shows as I padded softly through the dense forest.

My pale skin, almost ghostly in the moonlight, it shimmered as I moved. And I know too well that every step I took was a defiance against the King's orders.

I wasn't supposed to leave the castle walls, especially at night.

But I couldn't stay inside, locked in my room pretendind to read a book I don't even udberstand. And not especially when the weight of my own thoughts felt like it could drive me into madness.

I won't be away for too long anyway, I jusy really had to to outside, alone, quiet, hope the by walking under the glow of the moondlight, I couldn seek out solace in the whispering trees and the cool night air.
