Victoria's Concerns

Victoria sat at her desk, watching as Lana struggled to keep up with Ethan's demanding orders. She couldn't help but feel a sense of amusement at the young girl's incompetence.

But as she watched Lana's frustration grow, Victoria's expression turned serious. She had been working at Blackstone industries for years, and she had seen many assistants come and go. But there was something about Lana that bothered her.

Maybe it was the way Ethan seemed to be taking an interest in her, despite her obvious lack of experience. Or maybe it was the way Lana seemed to be oblivious to the way Ethan was manipulating her.

Whatever it was, Victoria couldn't shake the feeling that Lana was trouble. And she was determined to find out more about her.

Victoria picked up her phone and dialed a number. "Hey Cerise", she said, when the other woman answered. "I need you to dig up some information on Lana, the new assistant".

Cerise's voice was curious,"What do you want to know?"

Victoria hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "Just see what you can find out about her background".

Cerise's voice was reassuring. "Don't worry, Victoria. I'll find out everything there is to know about Lana".

Victoria hung up the phone, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

After what felt like hours, Victoria's phone rang. She answered it, listening as Cerise's voice came over the line.

"Hey Vic", Cerise said. "I did some digging on Lana, like you asked."

Victoria's ears perked up, her interest piqued. "What did you find out?", she asked.

Cerise's voice turned low and serious. "Lana's situation is pretty tough,Vic. She's from a low income household, and her mom's been struggling with a chronic illness. To make matters worse, her dad had abandoned the family, taking Lana's younger sister and all their money with him. Lana's been shouldering the responsibility of caring for her mom and trying to make ends meet."

Victoria's eyes widened in shock, for a moment she seemed frozen, her mind reeling with the implications.

Then, her expressions smoothened out, and she leaned back in her chair, her voice measured. "Thank you for telling me, Cerise. This is.... enlightening.

With that, Victoria hanged up and let out a cold smirk.

"Let's see how long you're gonna last here.....Lana"
