Chapter 62: Action

"Protego!"

Facing the dense swarm of flies, Noah initially wanted to burn them with a fire spell.

But after thinking it through, he decided that playing it safe was the better option. After all, there were not only exorcists here but also ordinary people.

Even though he was confident in his abilities, the others might not be able to withstand the attack. And what if something went wrong?

If the flies broke through, they could cause damage to the others. Sure, Noah could heal them afterward, but why take unnecessary risks?

Not wanting to gamble, Noah immediately cast a Protego charm. His magic reserves were full, and there was no reason to be reckless. This was simply the best choice.

As he waved his wand, silver magic condensed and solidified around everyone, forming a shimmering light shield over their bodies.

The moment the spell was completed, the endless swarm of flies crashed into the barrier. Instantly, many of them perished upon impact.

The only downside was that the number of flies killed was too small. If he could eliminate more of them at once, it would save him a lot of trouble.

"A magician? How is this possible?" The demon's voice hissed through the air, filled with disbelief. "Balthazar never mentioned a magician! Damn it!"

The demon quickly realized something was wrong. He had attacked Constantine twice before and failed both times, but that was expected.

Constantine was a powerful exorcist. And this demon? He was just a weakened projection of his true self, so he hadn't expected to win outright.

But now, the situation was different. The involvement of a magician changed everything. Did this mean that the Ministry of Magic had discovered their plans?

Unlike Balthazar, this demon was cautious. He wasn't arrogant; he was intelligent. The moment he saw Noah, he knew things had taken a turn for the worse.

"Balthazar? Oh, I remember him." Noah chuckled. "He's ashes now. When you return to Hell, be sure to say hello for me."

The next moment, Noah swiftly incanted, "Incendio Maxima!" His wand slashed through the air, and in an instant, the entire room erupted into roaring flames!

Countless flies were incinerated on the spot, while the demon recoiled, retreating in desperation. He was trying to escape!

"Immobulus!"

Noah's spell shot forward like a lightning strike. As his magic took hold, a cone-shaped, transparent barrier materialized mid-air, trapping the demon inside.

A series of furious, guttural roars echoed within the barrier, but there was no way out.

"Remember my words. Be sure to greet Balthazar for me."

Noah rarely wasted words, but the moment he finished speaking, he felt a bit foolish.

This was exactly the kind of classic villain mistake—talking too much instead of finishing the job.

Many powerful enemies had met their downfall because they wasted time on unnecessary monologues instead of dealing the final blow.

Noah shook his head. He wouldn't make that mistake. With a flick of his wand, his most lethal spell surged forward.

"Sectumsempra!"

Thanks to Professor Snape's magic, Noah had "legal" spells to use when he couldn't resort to Unforgivable Curses.

At least it kept him from having to rely on Expelliarmus and Reducto in every fight. This way, he had actual firepower.

The demon's agonized screams filled the room. He didn't even have a chance to beg for mercy.

Not that Noah expected him to.

It wasn't about pride—it was about survival. Right now, this demon was thinking about one thing:

How am I going to explain this to Mammon?

His actions had been exposed, and God only knew what kind of punishment awaited him in Hell.

Worse, the magicians had gotten involved. This was an extremely bad sign. He needed to convince Mammon to abandon this ridiculous plan.

The human world was not a place demons should be messing with. Even if Mammon succeeded in his plan, his end wouldn't be much better.

These magicians were terrifying.

And one of them—the one standing before him—was someone even the greatest demons feared.

As the demon was utterly annihilated, Noah exhaled and shook his head.

"That makes three demons I've killed," he thought.

Maybe he really did have a talent for exorcism. Using magic to exorcise demons was far more effective than silver weapons or holy water.

"Bloody hell, this guy..." Beeman swallowed hard.

Constantine was just as stunned.

---

Now, Constantine finally understood why Noah had forbidden him from contacting Beeman in advance.

If Beeman had found the Bible of Hell and read Mammon's name aloud, he would have been marked.

And once that happened?

His fate would have already been sealed.

Constantine had lost too many friends to demons. He didn't want to lose another.

"What now?" Constantine took a deep breath and looked at Noah, who was only ten years old.

Honestly, it was ridiculous. A ten-year-old child had become the leader of this group.

It was unbelievable.

But then again, if you considered that Noah was a magician, his status was far beyond that of ordinary exorcists.

"It's simple." Noah smirked. "Didn't your friend Beeman just tell us what the demons are planning?"

"What do you mean?" Ms. Haifin still felt overwhelmed. No matter how much she tried to toughen up, it was difficult to process everything that was happening.

"The demons' goal is to bring Mammon into this world," Noah explained.

"To do that, they plan to kill the younger Dawson sister so that Angela inherits her spiritual power. Once that happens, they'll trigger her awakening, allowing Mammon to take over her body."

"So... we just have to stop them, right?" Hannasi asked excitedly.

But the moment he spoke, he noticed something strange.

Except for Beeman, everyone else was silent.

His enthusiasm quickly faded.

Did I say something wrong...?

"While you were unconscious, the Ministry of Magic contacted me," Constantine muttered. "They want Noah to keep fighting these demons. Their real target is Mammon."

"But isn't this too dangerous?" Ms. Haifin snapped. "Why aren't they handling it themselves?"

"Because I'm here illegally," Noah sighed. "And despite my age, I'm recognized as a full-fledged magician. That makes me the best disguise."

"Besides, don't forget—Mammon needs divine power to enter this world."

"The Ministry probably wants to make sure everything gets 'cleaned up' properly."

Hearing that, Ms. Haifin bit her lip.

"So... what's the plan?"

"Constantine," Noah said, "you take Angela and help her awaken her spiritual power. Then, make sure she gets 'captured.'"

"Don't worry. I'll place protections on her. She won't die."

"And after that?" Constantine asked.

"Then, we'll pay someone a visit."

Noah's eyes gleamed.

"An old acquaintance of yours."

"There's a certain chair in Star Prison that your exorcists control, right?"

Constantine smirked.

"Yeah... I know exactly who we need to talk to."
