"What's wrong, teacher?"

Noah was puzzled by the Ancient One's sudden silence. Why had she stopped mid-sentence?

But soon he noticed her eyes closing and her hands slowly moving as the pendant on her chest began to glow. That immediately made Noah quiet down.

The Eye of Agamotto—also known as the Time Stone—was something Noah was very familiar with.

Although he saw it almost daily and had even encountered it alone in the library, he had never dared to play with it like Strange had.

A green light flickered slowly around the Ancient One, her shadow dancing in sync with it. In just a moment, everything around them seemed to rewind to its initial state.

The Ancient One finally ceased her movements. The Time Stone once again reverted to its dormant state as the Eye of Agamotto.

She silently picked up her teacup, took a calm sip, and said slowly, "Someone has arrived on Earth. But they are not an enemy. There should be no danger... probably."

"Probably?" Noah touched his chin. What does that mean, exactly?

Judging by her previous actions, Noah assumed she had used the Time Stone to peek into the future.

"Hmm. Probably. It's a bit blurry. I don't know why, but ever since you appeared, things have become unclear. Still, even with that, I can confirm the future seems to be heading in a good direction."

"Ah? So... you don't plan on checking out who entered Earth?"

"No need to. Unless... do you want to go, Noah?"

"Uh…"

Noah was slightly embarrassed by the Ancient One's question. Of course, I want to go see it!

If he remembered the timeline correctly, the person who just arrived on Earth could only be… Captain Marvel!

Naturally, he wanted to see this powerful woman who, though often treated like a side character, had once beaten Thanos—with the Infinity Stones!

Besides, ever since Noah had obtained the blood of the undead last year, he had been curious about Captain Marvel. Though she had once been an ordinary person, the energy core—likely powered by the Space Stone—had transformed her entirely.

Furthermore, she had been modified by the Kree and had adapted to their power. You could say Captain Marvel had evolved into a high-tier lifeform.

In Noah's eyes, her lifeform ranking might not be lower than Thor's. It might even be more terrifying!

Sure, it would be easier to get some of Thor's blood and boost his physical body that way, especially since Thor wasn't particularly strong before awakening his powers with the whole "Odin's son" enlightenment.

But that would take more time. Noah was confident he could handle Thor later on. Strange was a genius, sure—but Noah had cheat codes.

Captain Marvel was trickier, but the opportunity was right in front of him. If he didn't try, he would regret it.

At the very least, he had to try!

"Besides," Noah added, "I also want to meet a certain jerk. He turns into a real pain later, but for now, he's still kind of funny."

Noah wasn't particularly interested in S.H.I.E.L.D.—no one knew more about them than he did. But that wouldn't stop him from meeting a few interesting people. And maybe… just maybe… he could get his hands on the Space Stone.

"Am I right?" the Ancient One asked with a sly smile.

"Okay, yes. I do want to go." Noah nodded. "I just advanced to the fifth level, and I could use a break. Plus, I've never actually seen aliens before."

The Ancient One tilted her head, thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. She should be in the United States. You can go through the New York Sanctum."

"Uh…" Noah didn't expect her to agree so easily. He stood frozen for a few seconds before quickly recovering. "Thank you, teacher!"

"But don't go alone," she added. "That girl is dangerous. Take Wong with you. She won't approach you as easily if he's there, and if things go south, you'll have an easier time escaping."

"…"

Teacher, did you really just say that out loud?

Still, when he thought about it, she had a point. Captain Marvel wasn't at full power yet—but she was still immensely dangerous. If they fought, his first move would absolutely be to run.

So taking Wong wasn't a bad idea after all. Wasn't this the same treatment Strange got?

Noah shook his head and dropped the thought. With permission granted, he respectfully bid farewell to the Ancient One, then dragged a confused Wong away to set off.

It was about three or four in the afternoon. Wong had been reading in the library and had no idea what was happening.

"What's going on, Noah?" Wong asked curiously as he followed.

"Someone came to Earth. Let's go take a look," Noah replied casually, stepping into the temple's portal.

"What?! Someone came to Earth? Who?"

"No idea. The teacher didn't say. But if the two of us stay alert, it should be fine. Worst-case scenario, you block and I teleport us out."

"Hey! Are you using me as a meat shield?!"

"Huh? How do you even know that term?"

The two bantered as they stepped out from Kamar-Taj into the New York Sanctum.

Everyone at Kamar-Taj knew them, so no one stopped them. But once they reached the New York Sanctum, both of them calmed down.

This was Noah's first time in New York, and Wong hadn't been here much either.

They didn't know the New York temple guardians well, so they kept their behavior respectful. Luckily, the guardians recognized them and treated them politely.

The guardian on duty was a middle-aged white man named Jack Brian. Noah had never heard of him before.

Brian had already sensed someone entering Earth and was preparing to investigate when Noah and Wong showed up.

"To be honest, you arrived pretty fast," Brian said curiously, though he quickly frowned.

He could sense their magical levels… and they felt low?

One of them even looked too young. Why would Kamar-Taj send these two?

Noah noticed the doubt in Brian's eyes and instantly understood what he was thinking.

With a helpless shrug, he said, "Our teacher sent us."

"Who's your teacher?" Brian asked, raising an eyebrow.

Plenty of Kamar-Taj sorcerers took on disciples, and Brian himself had some. He needed to understand why these two were here before letting them proceed.

"Master Ancient One," both Noah and Wong answered honestly.

"The Ancient One? You're disciples of the Sorcerer Supreme?" Brian immediately withdrew his earlier doubts.

He reassessed the two young men in front of him. Though their power seemed lacking, considering their age, it was actually quite impressive.

Especially the boy who looked fifteen or sixteen—his magical aura startled Brian.

He used his magician-grade pendant to assess them. Based on the readings, the boy was already at fifth-level magic.

So young and already this strong?

Brian wasn't the type to grumble about "kids these days," but he was genuinely surprised.

What was I doing at that age? he mused. World War II? Vietnam?

He shook off the thought and said, "Alright, I get it. Even if your level seems low, the Sorcerer Supreme must have her reasons for sending you. Go ahead—but be careful."

"Thank you! We'll be careful," both Noah and Wong replied seriously.

"She's far from here. I suggest you take a taxi. Or, if you're familiar with New York, you can teleport there. Don't worry, I'll notify the U.S. Ministry of Magic so they won't trouble you."

"Thank you, Guardian Brian. We could use magic, but since it's our first time in New York, we'll just take a taxi. By the way, I'm Noah—Noah Finniel—and this is my friend, Wong."

Brian nodded. He was about to give them taxi fare when something clicked.

Noah? Noah Finniel?

Wait a minute… isn't he the one who messed with Heaven and Hell on Earth… and created that meditation method that boosts magical power?

He turned and stared hard at Noah, making the boy nervous.

"You're that Noah?"

"Well… if you're referring to the guy who came up with that meditation method—yeah, that's probably me," Noah answered, a bit embarrassed.

"Damn it! Why you? Why did you come here?" Brian shouted, suddenly frustrated.

"Wait—what do you mean, Mr. Brian?" Noah blinked in confusion.

"Don't you know how famous you are now?! Damn it! Now I have to keep an eye on you constantly! I was hoping for some peace and quiet!"
