What's the most ridiculous thing in the world?

At first, Carol felt there were far too many to even begin listing.

But now? She was certain—she had just encountered the most ridiculous thing imaginable.

Sitting in the home of Maria Rambeau—her best friend, or rather, her best friend before she lost her memory—Carol stared at the Skrulls in front of her. As she listened to the recording Talos played, everything finally began to make sense.

Maria had just told her all about their past together. And honestly, some of it did feel vaguely familiar.

But no matter how hard she tried, the memories wouldn't come back clearly.

Even after looking at old photos and personal "relics" she had left behind, Carol felt no meaningful progress.

That is, until she heard the recording the Skrulls had obtained through special means. Strangely, the moment she heard it, a flood of fragmented memories surged forward.

She remembered—she was human. Her name wasn't "Vers." It was Carol Danvers.

Dr. Wendy Lawson, who was suspected of being Kree—or more accurately, a person working under Mar-Vell—had accompanied her on that last mission.

She remembered them getting shot down by a local fighter jet. And Mar-Vell… Mar-Vell had mentioned wanting to end a shameful war.

As Carol's memory grew clearer, she suddenly recalled that Mar-Vell had given her coordinates.

Most crucially, she remembered that both she and Mar-Vell were shot down by Yon-Rogg and his Starforce—the very team she now belonged to.

"Damn it! I used to be an Earthling? I gained my powers after destroying the energy core and being irradiated? And then the Kree manipulated me, made me think I was one of them?"

Carol finally pieced together the truth and wondered if she was going mad. But her instincts screamed: No—you're not crazy.

This was truly absurd. Probably the most absurd thing she had ever experienced.

Or at least, in the top ten.

As for her name?

Her full name was Carol Danvers—confirmed by the dog tag she found, with only "Carol Dan" still legible.

So it was obvious. This "Vers" identity wasn't a coincidence. Everything pointed to her true origin.

"Looks like this 'Ms. Danvers,' who thought she was Kree, is actually an Earthling?" Wong muttered as he sat to the side, watching Carol argue with Talos, and gave a helpless shrug.

"Yeah, seems that way," Noah nodded, with Fury and Coulson doing the same.

But their minds were already racing. If Carol used to be in the Air Force, could they recruit her? Win her over?

After all, she wasn't a mutant. If she still had ties to the military… this could change everything.

"Looks like you were right, Noah," Wong suddenly added.

"Ah? About what?" Noah blinked, not following.

"You once said that when it comes to gaining power—poor people rely on mutation, while rich ones rely on technology. This Ms. Danvers isn't rich. So… mutant?"

"Possibly. She survived massive radiation and came out stronger. That's textbook successful mutation."

"So what now? Erase Fury and Coulson's memories and head back?"

"What about Ms. Danvers?"

Noah and Wong spoke freely, barely acknowledging Fury and Coulson nearby. Noah, of course, kept an eye on them. Wong couldn't care less. In his view, regular people shouldn't be involved in this kind of stuff yet.

Wong rubbed his head in thought. Carol's case was complicated. Her memory was damaged—what if they interfered further?

And she didn't seem like someone easy to deal with.

Unlike Noah, Wong couldn't see others' power levels. He could only sense that she was dangerous—very dangerous.

Dealing with her was a headache. So for now, Wong decided to wait and see.

Eventually, Carol and Talos stopped arguing. Thanks to Maria's intervention, Carol agreed to a temporary truce.

They would track down the coordinates Mar-Vell left behind first—then decide what to do next.

"You knew all along, didn't you? About the Skrulls," Carol accused, walking over to Noah and the others with a stormy expression.

"That's—" Fury began to speak, but Noah cut in.

"Yes. While you were chasing the other Skrull, we intercepted one here. And when you arrived, we already noticed you. We didn't trust either side at first… but we never expected it to be this complicated."

Noah spread his hands as if offering the best explanation he could.

"Satisfied now?" Carol said coldly. "Then do you know where the coordinates lead?"

"Nope. Don't ask me." Noah shook his head. "That's your job. Honestly, you should be thanking me."

"Thank you? For deceiving me this whole time?"

"Thank me for stopping you from making a mistake—and for helping you find out who you really are. Oh, and your partner—he's on his way, right?"

"You're spying on me?"

"We've been watching you since you landed. Around 1989, I believe? But no Earthlings were harmed, and the Kree fled quickly…"

Noah tilted his head, subtly distancing himself from direct blame.

He could tell Carol's anger stemmed from feeling abandoned by Earth's defenders like him and Wong.

She had heard a bit about them from Fury on the way over.

Even without Fury's info, she had noticed strange gazes during her travels—watchful eyes that disappeared once she met Noah and the "fat guy."

The truth was obvious.

Carol sighed. She didn't want to argue with this magician anymore. Her priority was decoding the coordinates.

But then—Noah spoke again.

"Actually, I could use your help."

"Oh? What could a magician possibly need from a mere 'ordinary person' like me?"

"Are you really an ordinary person?"

"Depends. What are you asking for?"

Carol raised an eyebrow. She was genuinely curious. What could he possibly want?

"I need your blood. Just five milliliters."

Noah said it directly.

"My blood? Why?" Carol looked surprised. She didn't think her blood was that special. But she also had a good idea of what Noah might be after.

"Personal interest. I'm curious how you survived such a massive explosion—and ended up with powers like these."

Noah didn't hide his intent. It wasn't about deceit. Carol had spent enough time among the Kree to understand genetics and experimentation.

By speaking plainly, Noah seemed less suspicious. Besides, he wasn't just anyone.

"You want to study my powers to find a way to stop me if necessary?" Carol raised an eyebrow and smiled faintly.

"I'm no scientist. I don't have that kind of tech," Noah said. "Besides, you're an Earthling. Even if you go back to the Kree, we won't intervene. But if you try to go rogue here... well, I won't bother negotiating. I'll just retrieve your blood after you're dead."

His words were cold—brutally honest.

Even Carol frowned slightly.

Fury and Coulson exchanged glances. They had thought the same thing when Noah mentioned it—but they hadn't dared say it aloud.

Now that Noah had said it... would Carol agree?

Fury hoped not. True, Noah might not have the tech, but if he handed her to some actual scientist—

No, Fury decided. Better not even think that.

"Alright. I'll agree," Carol finally nodded after a long pause. "But on one condition: Don't let anyone else get my blood."

"Relax, ma'am." Noah rolled his eyes. "I doubt any top Earth scientists would dare study your blood. It's too dangerous. I just want to understand how you're even alive. Honestly, to me, your blood is just an ideal magical reagent."

And who knows—maybe it'll improve my own physical strength.
