Chapter 3:Desperation and a Turning Point

As Lin Shen's hand touched the crystal that emitted a brilliant glow,an overwhelming surge of power instantly flooded his body,significantly enhancing his strength.However,at that very moment,a divine warship hovered above the valley,and countless figures in black robes poured down from it like a tidal wave,encircling them completely.

The leader of the black-robed figures was the mysterious chief with eyes that were completely black and devoid of pupils.He walked on air,his voice cold and piercing:"Give up resistance.You cannot escape today.Hand over the star beast and the crystal,and I will spare your lives."

Lin Shen hugged Yin Yue tightly,his eyes filled with determination."Never!You madmen,I will never let you succeed."Yin Yue also let out a low growl,its fur standing on end with anger,and the runes on its body glowed brightly,ready to fight to the death.

Ye Ying gripped his dagger tightly,his gaze scanning the crowd of black-robed figures,searching for a chance to break through."Don't panic.We might still have a chance.Lin Shen,when the time comes,use the power of the crystal to break out."

The battle was imminent.The black-robed figures launched the first attack,firing strange beams of energy towards Lin Shen and his companions.Lin Shen quickly channeled the power he had gained from the crystal,forming an energy shield in front of him to block the attack.Yin Yue darted out like a silver bolt of lightning,its claws slashing as it engaged in close combat with the black-robed figures.Ye Ying moved like a wraith,weaving through the enemies,and with each strike,he took down one of the black-robed figures.

However,the divine forces were numerous and formidable,and their encirclement grew tighter.Lin Shen felt the pressure mounting,and the shield began to crack under the relentless assault.

"This won't do!"Lin Shen was desperate.He closed his eyes and focused all his energy on sensing the power of the crystal,trying to find a way to break through.Suddenly,a vision flashed through his mind—a hidden ancient memory within the crystal,showing how to use its power to create a spatial rift.

Without time to think further,Lin Shen quickly formed hand signs according to the memory,gathering the power of the crystal into his palms.As he did so,the space around them began to warp,and a crack emitting a faint glow slowly appeared.

"Quick,go through here!"Lin Shen shouted.Ye Ying and Yin Yue moved closer.Just as they were about to step into the rift,the leader of the black-robed figures lunged forward,condensing a black blade in his hand and stabbing towards Lin Shen's back.

At the critical moment,Yin Yue turned around and blocked the fatal blow with its body.The blade pierced through Yin Yue,and blood splattered everywhere.

"Yin Yue!"Lin Shen let out a heart-wrenching cry.

"Don't worry about me,just go..."Yin Yue's voice weakly echoed in Lin Shen's mind.

Lin Shen gritted his teeth,picked up Yin Yue,and together with Ye Ying,they dashed into the spatial rift.The rift closed rapidly behind them,sealing the black-robed figures outside.

After an unknown duration of traveling through the dark spatial rift,Lin Shen and his companions finally emerged into an unfamiliar world.The sky here was gloomy,filled with a decaying atmosphere,and the earth was cracked and barren.

Ye Ying looked around,his brow furrowed."Where are we?It seems like an abandoned world."

Lin Shen didn't have time to take in his surroundings.He gently laid Yin Yue down and examined its wound,which was deep to the bone,and its life force was fading.

"Yin Yue,hold on,I will save you,"Lin Shen said anxiously,feeling helpless.

At that moment,a deep roar suddenly came from the distance.Lin Shen and Ye Ying looked over cautiously and saw a gigantic beast,enveloped in black mist,slowly approaching them.The beast appeared to be extremely powerful,and after their recent fierce battle,Lin Shen and Ye Ying felt a sense of despair.

But Lin Shen did not give up.He clutched the crystal tightly,trying to harness its power once again.Just as the beast was about to pounce on them,the crystal emitted a burst of intense light.The light enveloped Lin Shen,Yin Yue,and Ye Ying,forming a protective barrier.

The beast collided with the barrier,letting out an angry roar,but it could not break through.Under the light's protection,Lin Shen was astonished to see that Yin Yue's wounds began to heal slowly...
