CHAPTER 9: The Long Journey

" You know, Kasela there's no cause for you to be worried after all you can come visit, anytime you call me I will come pick you up" her uncle said when he noticed the young girl beside him was downcasted.

"I know but I can't help but feel nervous", She said.

"I understand, but don't worry, I have everything under control and you will be well taken care of you. You see the Rector of that school is a good friend of mine so I told him about you and he will provide absolute comfort for you". Her uncle assured her.

"Really uncle? You know the principal?" Kasela asked feeling a bit happy.

" Yes, as I said earlier, he is a good friend of mine, so you will feel safe there" He answered.

Kasela nodded but for an unexplained reasons she couldn't get the nightmare out of her head, she could still vividly see the red eyes and long canines, she shuddered as the feeling of fear got even more intense as her uncle drove her to the school. The journey was a very long one and Kasela fell asleep, it was a dreamless one as fear still clouded her mind. She woke up up a short while later and began looking around the bustling city.

" This place is quite beautiful'. Kasela said.

"Yes it's one of the most popular city we have here in Kalmanoo, your new school is also situated here", Her uncle informed her.

She nodded her head as she looked round, the buildings were beautiful and built largely. Flashy cars were passing everywhere, even the malls displayed shiny and expensive stuffs. This place was far more different from where she came from. After driving for some time, they arrived at a very tall building that had golden gates, there was an inscription written boldly on it. WELCOME TO GOLDEN STAR UNIVERSITY.

The gates opened on their own and Kasela's uncle drove in. Kasela was awed by the large school compound, it was neat and beautiful, the walls were painted in gold, the school building was large and one could easily get lost. After parking his car, Kasela and her uncle then went to the Rector's office which was quite a long walk from the car park.

The Rector was a balding man in his late 50's, he had grey eyes and wore a round rimmed glasses, he ushered both Kasela and her uncle to a seat and he shook hands with her uncle. Through their conversations, Kasela could easily notice that her uncle and the Rector were old friends,more like an older brother and a younger one. Her uncle introduced her to the Rector as his niece, the man smiled and also shooked hands with her.

" Welcome to Golden Star University" the man said.

"Uhmm .... Yes, thanks" Kasela replied.

Her uncle and the man had a long talk and at the end of it, the Rector made a phone call and give minutes later, three people stepped into the Rector's office, two men and a woman. The two men were dressed up as securities and the Rector introduced them as the men who will help pack Kasela's luggage to her room. While the middle aged woman with red hair and green eyes was introduced as her Dean and her dorm mistress. The five of them went out leaving the Rector in his office, the two men followed Kasela's uncle to the garage to bring her luggages and Kasela followed the woman who was known as Mrs Caroline to her assigned dorm which was located at the second floor of the building. As they got inside the building, Kasela was stunned.
