Chapter 8

"Sister, can you come back to see Mom? I swear, she's really not going to make it."

He sends me a text message every day.

It's not too much of a bother, but it keeps me informed about my foster mother's condition.

I blocked him.

"Harmony, we're going to Grandpa's house."

I carry Harmony from the fifth floor to the sixth floor.

The teacher and his wife are overjoyed to see Harmony.

"Hello, Grandpa. Hello, Grandma."

Harmony is held by Grandma, and the elderly couple plays with her in the living room.

My senior and I are busy in the kitchen.

After the meal is prepared, the whole family sits down to eat together.

Meanwhile, Wylie watches as his mother is taken away for cremation, kneeling on the ground in grief.

"Mom."

He's lived off his parents until now, without any skills.

He's unwilling to get a job.

This stepfather, though his biological dad, clearly has a different last name.

Wylie finally comes to find me.

"Sis, I don't have a mom or dad anymore."
