The Necromancer (Page 2/2)

-310!

One strike drained over a third of Jack's health!

"Holy cow, it hits harder than a linebacker on steroids!"

Jack scrambled backward, putting some distance between himself and the boss. Using the nearby boulder as cover, he danced around the Demonized Wolf King like a matador teasing a bull. Every time the beast lunged, Jack sidestepped, using the rock to block its ferocious attacks.

Turns out, dragging the boss to an obstacle hadn't been a wasted effort after all.

From the start, Jack knew relying solely on his "hostage trick" wouldn't guarantee victory. After navigating the cutthroat politics of the starter village, he'd grown accustomed to the game's cruel sense of humor.

"Awooo!"

The frustrated Demonized Wolf King roared louder, but its raw power wasn't enough to smash through solid stone. Thanks to Jack's slippery movements—more evasive than a politician dodging tough questions—the debuffs eventually wore off.

While dodging and healing, Jack waited patiently for his health to climb back above 80%. Once ready, he struck again, combining his Bison Sword's devastating blows with rapid-fire Basic Combos to maximize damage output.

40%!

20%!

...

Despite the dwindling HP bar, Jack stayed ice-cold. As soon as his healing potion cooldown ended, he chugged another dose, ensuring he stayed topped off until the very end. Finally, with a final, pitiful howl, the Demonized Wolf King collapsed into a heap of pixels.

Ding!

"Whoosh!"

Golden light enveloped Jack as he leveled up to Level 10!

Dish!

System Notification: Congratulations! You have reached Level 10 and may now leave the starter village to head to town for your class advancement!

"Perfect," Jack muttered, glancing at the loot scattered beside the Demonized Wolf King's corpse. Several silver coins and three pieces of gear caught his eye, instantly lifting his spirits.

Bending down, he eagerly cast Scouting Skill to inspect the spoils—

[Wolf Fang Dagger] (Bronze Quality)

...

Three items, two of which were immediately usable!

Though he hadn't chosen a class yet, players could equip both daggers and swords interchangeably. However, thanks to his mastery of Basic Swordsmanship—which granted an extra +5 attack when wielding swords—his trusty Bison Sword still outperformed the Wolf Fang Dagger.

Swapping out his old gear for the new drops, Jack opened his character sheet and marveled at the dramatic improvements—

[Yi Jack Shui]

Health: 1050

Attack: 36-38

Defense: 30-33

...

"Man, I'm too good for this village," Jack smirked, imagining the countless noobs still stuck with Attack 2-2 and Defense 1-1. "Anyone else even close to my level? Anyone?"

"Anyone?!"

Suddenly, a raspy, high-pitched voice cut through the air, interrupting Jack's self-congratulatory monologue. "Who dares slay my meticulously crafted puppet?"
