Opposition and Betrayal

Despite His miracles and teachings, Jesus faced opposition from religious leaders who felt threatened by His authority. They accused Him of blasphemy and sought ways to kill Him. Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, betrayed Him for thirty pieces of silver.

Jesus was arrested, falsely accused, and sentenced to death by crucifixion. He suffered greatly, bearing the sins of the world. On the cross, He declared, "It is finished," signifying that His mission to redeem humanity was complete.
