The Resurrection and Ascension

On the third day after His crucifixion, Jesus Christ rose from the dead, fulfilling the ancient prophecies and proving His divine power over sin and death. The resurrection was not only a miraculous event but the central cornerstone of the Christian faith. Without the resurrection, the message of salvation would be incomplete, and humanity would still be bound by sin and eternal separation from God. However, Jesus, the Son of God, conquered the grave, demonstrating that He holds power over life and death.

The first witnesses to the resurrection were women, led by Mary Magdalene, who had followed Jesus faithfully throughout His ministry. Early in the morning, they went to the tomb to anoint His body with spices, only to find that the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was empty. As they stood in shock, angels appeared and proclaimed the glorious news:

"Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen, just as He said!" (Luke 24:5-6)

Overcome with joy and fear, the women rushed to tell the disciples. Peter and John ran to the tomb, finding it just as the women had described—empty except for the burial cloths. Jesus had truly risen.
