The abandoned dwarven kingdom was a vast network of underground tunnels, massive halls, and once-magnificent strongholds now lost to time. The once-proud halls that had echoed with the sound of hammers striking metal were now home to creatures far removed from the kingdom's former glory.
Deep within one of the fortified chambers, the quagoa king, Ralvok Ironhide, sat upon a crude stone throne. Around him stood his elite warriors, all adorned in scavenged armor from fallen dwarves, their eyes filled with an air of arrogance.
The escaped quagoa rushed into the chamber, panting heavily, his face twisted with fear. The gathered warriors sneered, unimpressed.
Ralvok's sharp gaze fell upon the trembling figure. "You look like you've seen the end of days, fool. Speak."
The quagoa gasped for breath, his body still shaking. "M-my king! A—a demon! He rides upon a beast of fur and slaughters without pause! I barely escaped!"
A warrior scoffed. "A demon? You fled from one man?"
The others laughed, but Ralvok didn't. He studied the messenger carefully before leaning forward. "And yet, you stand before me. If this so-called demon is so powerful, why did he let you escape?"
The quagoa gulped. "I… I think he followed me."
Silence fell over the chamber.
Ralvok's expression darkened. "Then you've led him here?"
The messenger shrank back, his voice barely above a whisper. "Y-yes…?"
Ralvok gritted his teeth. He had sixty thousand warriors at his command, but his instincts screamed that this was no ordinary opponent. He rose from his throne, slamming a clawed fist against the armrest.
"If this demon is foolish enough to come, he will learn the might of the quagoa!" He raised his voice. "Warriors, prepare for battle!"
At that moment, the great doors of the hall swung open, and Kael Drakon stepped inside.
The chamber fell silent.
Riding atop Hamsuke, Kael's dark cloak billowed behind him as he gazed at the gathering with a mixture of boredom and amusement.
Ralvok's fury ignited. "So… you are the one who dares to trespass in my kingdom?"
Kael dismounted smoothly, stepping forward. "Your kingdom? This place belonged to the dwarves. You're nothing more than a squatter."
The insult sent a wave of rage through the gathered quagoa. Warriors growled, stepping forward, their claws drawn.
"You dare insult our king?!" one of them barked.
Another lunged. "Die, intruder!"
Kael barely moved. With a simple flick of his fingers, a sky spear materialized in the air. It shot forward instantly, impaling the first warrior before the others even realized what had happened. The body fell to the ground, lifeless, blood pooling around it.
A stunned silence filled the hall.
Ralvok's anger boiled over. "Kill him!"
The room exploded into chaos.
Hundreds of warriors rushed forward, their claws gleaming, their roars shaking the chamber.
Kael sighed. "Fools."
Raising a single hand, he summoned dozens of sky spears, hovering ominously in the air. Then, with one swift motion, they rained down like divine judgment.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
The entire chamber shook. Hundreds of quagoa were impaled instantly, their bodies reduced to nothing but gore and shattered armor. Blood splattered across the stone floor, and the once-proud army collapsed within seconds.
Ralvok stood frozen.
Even with sixty thousand warriors, he could see death was inevitable.
Kael walked forward, stepping over the broken corpses, his boots staining red with blood. "Are we done here, or do you still want to fight?"
The quagoa king clenched his fists, his body trembling. But as he looked around, seeing his forces reduced to nothing, fear overtook his rage.
"...I surrender."
Kael smirked. "Good choice."
Ralvok lowered his head. "What do you want from us, demon?"
Kael's eyes gleamed. "Take me to the frost dragon."
Before Ralvok could respond, a deep, rumbling voice echoed through the chamber.
"There's no need. I have come to you instead."
The temperature dropped instantly.
A massive gust of frozen wind swept through the hall as the stone walls cracked with frost. From the shadows of the great cavern, a massive creature emerged—a true dragon.
The frost dragon, standing over ten meters tall, its body covered in gleaming ice-blue scales, stepped forward, golden eyes gleaming with intelligence.
Kael smiled. "Finally."
The dragon's voice was deep and powerful. "You are bold to enter my domain, human."
Kael chuckled. "I'm not human."
The dragon narrowed its eyes before a massive icicle spear formed above it and shot forward at blinding speed.
Kael teleported instantly, appearing behind the beast. His sky spear was already in motion, soaring toward the dragon's exposed back.
But the dragon was fast.
It twisted mid-air, avoiding the spear with precision before unleashing a wave of icy breath, instantly freezing everything in its path.
Kael teleported again, appearing on its right flank. He hurled two more sky spears, forcing the beast to weave through the air.
The battle was fierce.
The frost dragon's strength was comparable to a level fifty human, its endurance and agility far surpassing any normal creature. It dodged, counterattacked, and unleashed waves of frozen destruction, forcing Kael to constantly shift positions.
The dragon lunged, its massive claws tearing through the stone as it attempted to crush Kael. But he vanished mid-motion, reappearing directly above it.
With a grin, he summoned his strongest sky spear yet—infusing it with sixty percent of his mana.
The spear crackled with golden energy, its sheer heat melting the ice around him.
The dragon looked up, sensing death approaching.
It tried to dodge—but Kael teleported again, closing the gap instantly.
Then, with a single mighty thrust, he drove the spear straight into the dragon's skull.
Boom.
The entire cavern shook as the beast roared in agony, its body convulsing violently. Ice shattered around it as its enormous form collapsed, twitching before finally going still.
Silence.
Kael landed gracefully, staring at the lifeless body.
Ralvok and his surviving warriors stood frozen, their expressions locked in sheer terror.
Kael exhaled. "Not bad. But still too weak."
Ralvok took a step back. "You… are a monster beyond comprehension."
Kael ignored him. His power had grown once more.
The journey was far from over.
