I Accept Your Deal

THIRD POV—

[Host... you are dead.]

"Yeah? Do you think I don't know that?"

[The whole world got destroyed, and it's because of your incapability. You are never serious.]

"Are you an idiot? How the fuck would I save the world when I couldn't even save those heroines?"

[I should have bonded with any other human. It's obvious that you are useless.]

"You should have done it. Now, you are stuck with me and the same for me as well. I can't even tolerate your presence."

[Regretting won't help me to get rid of you. What's done is done... now, we have to focus on the present.]

Scott was infuriated by the system's behaviour. You must be all wondering about what really happened for him to react like this... let's have a brief flashback. Scott Sommers, a college student, who really liked manga, manhwa, anime, comics, etc. was an otaku. It's not really that surprising. And like every other otaku, his dream was to be reincarnated in another world.

Not every person within our glorious earth's threshold is intelligent. The best example is— 'You.' You think yourself as an intelligent being but here you are, consuming my content. Now coming back to the topic... Scott, who was a person just like you, died due to some unavoidable circumstances. After his death, he got bounded by a 'World-Saviour System.'

Honestly for him, it was his dream-come true. The system told him that he would be reincarnated as a harem protagonist in a fantasy world. His excitement even increased more. Being surrounded by beauties, pampered by them, playing with them... there is not a single man in this entire world who would refuse it. But reality is always different from expectation. His expectations were shattered like a fragile glass hit by a ball.

When he first transmigrated into the world, he believed the female leads would be charmed by him. What he imagined to be a fantasy-harem turned into a horror show. The female leads were disgusted by his mere presence. Their eyes held a contempt for him and they repeatedly tried to kill him. Forget about capturing, all he did was to run for his dear life.

"What did I even do to turn such hatred for them? Why were they even angry at me? I never did anything wrong?"

[You failed in your missions. Not just that, you are a certified idiot who just cries in the face of danger. It's obvious they won't like you.]

"Shut up!" Scott snapped at it.

[The heroines destroyed the world. You are dead was well.]

"So, what should we do now?"

[You are lucky that I am your system. Your soul was heavily damaged, to the point you almost ceased to exist. But I, the great 'World-Saviour System' saved you with the help of the system administrator.]

"Really?! You are great!" Scott was really happy. He never thought that this 'help' would have some consequences.

[Yes. Be grateful to me.]

The system's voice was laced with smugness.

"Thank you!"

[It's alright. No need to thank me. Host, we should come back to the topic. Right now, you are ball of light.]

"What? I am a ball? Now that you said, I really can't feel any of my limbs. Am I going to die? System, you lied to me!"

[Calm down, Host. You are not going to die unless, you do what I say. But before that, listen to me. When any person's soul gets damaged, they lose their essence. Remember one thing, one's essence decides their fate. Species, race, gender, everything. You, my dear has lost your essence.]

"Then where can I gain it?"

[You can't gain it on your own. But with my help you can.]

"You would help me?"

[Yes, it's my job.]

"You would do this for me? I always thought you hated me but I was wrong. You really-really love me." The tiny ball called Scott, was filled with joy. If he was kept on the ground, he might have bounced all by itself.

[Hold down your horses, Host. I am doing this for free. There's a catch.]

Scott's enthusiasm died. Dread filled his entire being. He asked, "What catch? What do I have to do?"

[I discussed with the administration. After a heavy discussion, we came to a point.]

"W-what p-p-point?" stuttered Scott. The system's words sounded very ominous.

[As you have failed as the hero of that fantasy-harem world, it has been decided that you would be reincarnated either as a heroine or villainess of another world. In other words, you would be a female. You will be filled with new essence.]

"I refuse!" yelled Scott. He would never accept this. He was man... he couldn't be a woman. There was no way he would be a woman.

[Then... die.]

"... What?" Scott couldn't comprehend system's words.

[I will repeat myself. This time I will elaborate it for your simple brain to process. You will die, Host. If you don't accept, I will simply go and tell the system administrator that you are not going to accept his proposition.]

"You can't unbind with me. It's not possible."

[Yes. But now it is. You lack essence... the very force that binds us. So, I can. If you don't accept, I will leave you and you will cease to exist. Think carefully, the administration has shown you not only mercy but also, graced you with such a favour.]

Scott was completely torn from inside with anxiety. His resolve was crumbling. Death is a factor that destroys the strongest of resolves with just a simple flick. Seeing the system wouldn't budge, he made a last-ditch effort.

"System, what if I become the hero? I can become the protagonist of the new world. I won't fail this time."

[Nope. It's decided. Either accept the proposition or, die. It's your choice.]

Those cruel word's completely destroyed Scott's resolve. He knew if he didn't accept then he would die. He would cease to exist. His fear of death outweighed his refusal to become a woman.

With a defeated tone, he muttered, "I accept it. I accept your deal."

[Good. You made the right choice, Host.]
