Who will have the final say?

CHAPTER THREE

TIANA'S POV

I stared at the ceiling furiously, letting the fuming tears drop rapidly to the side of my face. Why Violet? What did she have that I didn't?

"No! I can't stand and watch my dream shatter into tiny pitiful pieces," my mind heated.

I had to do something, but the hospital tubes of fate were entwined on me and were stopping me. How dare she get the flowers from him? No! Randell's too good for her.

"Are you okay?" Father asked, with an absolute look of concern

I sniffed in the tears and catarrh and screamed "How can I be okay? How could I be? When Violet is standing outside with my man doing what God knows what. How could I ever be happy? I'm so much disappointed in you, I can see your love for me is fake."

I said breaking down in serious tears. Why must this happen to me? I'm visibly more curvy than she is, or is it because I'm on this bed? Maybe it really is. I need to get out of this bed soon and show him what package is better.

"You know you're my favorite, I'll always love you till forever comes," he said

I gave a gentle smile and said "if you so much love me as you said, you'll have to help me"

At the wedding

VIOLET'S POV

"Hope it wasn't a big deal?" Randell scrutinized me with his sexy blue eyes as we walked hand in hand down the aisle. Everything about the wedding had been turned upside down.

Aside from the fact that it had been moved three days forward, Dandy, Randell's Dad, had vehemently refused the idea of my dad walking me down the aisle. He claimed it would be time consuming.

"Is it a big deal?" He asked again, piercing me with his stare. The prolonged gaze made me very uncomfortable.

I knew he was supposed to look at me lovingly in front of the small crowd but it didn't have to be that intense.

I threw a casual look at the crowd. They basically were made up of both our families. Their teeth were flashing ridiculously bright and I recoiled painfully. They were witnesses.

I looked from my dad's broad smile to the sad smile on mom's face and then to Pamela's confused face. Tiana was nowhere to be found.

Where was she? I creased my brows.

She had kept a long face throughout the wedding planning and had vehemently refused to speak a word to me. Just as I had always done, I had ignored her and left her to herself.

What was the point of creating more headache by trying to befriend her?

I felt a tiny nudge on my arm and then realized that I owed Randell a reply.

I faked a smile and replied between my teeth "it was not a big deal. In fact, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me. I look forward to doing this everytime"

He didn't miss the sarcasm. "Look, it's not my fault," he managed a whisper as the aisle suddenly grew longer and the music grew to a crescendo. "I was forced too,"

"That's very assuring," I replied sharply

"What do you think of our marriage?" His deep voice vibrated in the low tone he was using and my stomach churned. He had purposely skipped the second sarcasm.

I froze midway, not knowing how to explain my anger towards my father, not to talk of my anger towards his own father too.

Who the hell did they think they were? Did Dandy Stanley think that I was a mere commodity that could be easily exchanged without a consent from my end? I clenched my free fist in frustration.

Of course I couldn't spurt out my resentment and anger as it came to mind as it was already too late.

Again the gentle nudge. I had stopped right at the middle of the aisle. All eyes were one me.

He gave a reassuring smile to the audience and we continued our slow, step-by-step movement.

"Sad," I said finally, after calming a little verbal war in my head.

He laughed gently and delicately pushed his hands to my bust. "Why are you sad? Don't you know who I am?

"Aside from the fact that you're Dandy Stanley's son"

"Only son," he corrected

"I thought there was a Kelvin Stanley?" I questioned innocently

But he replied acidically with a gritted teeth "He's a bastard," the venom spilled on me "Don't ever mention his name again you whore".

I turned to look at him and I could see that his smile had faded.

Whore?? What did he mean by that? I struggled hard to keep my rage from showing, for people had begun staring suspiciously.

Thankfully the long journey came to an end as we got to the altar where we were to exchange our vows.

But a loud heel click distracted everyone. There at the entrance, where I and Randell had just walked in from, stood Tiana. She was putting on a short black mink coat and red stilleto heels

What?? What was she doing? Wasn't she aware of the wedding ceremony?

She didn't miss her way as she walked down the aisle, ignoring the mini-crowd.

"Hi Violet," she waved as she drew closer to where I stood.

"Tiana! What's gotten into you, you're supposed to be seated!" My voice rose

"Hello, dear Randell," she ignored me.

"I demand an explanation!!" I said in a half command, ignoring the murmurs. Randell stilled. I didn't have the chance to check the reason

"Tiana dear, the pew is this way," my dad said softly from the church pew.

"I know, Dad," she replied "I just wanted to personally congratulate my sister"

"Did I go missing throughout the week?" My chest tightened as hard as my fist. Tiana was truly a demon.

Suddenly she staggered and fell to a sitting position on the floor. Her fall indeed quenched the fire of anger in me and in it's place, concern.

I quickly placed my self in a squatting position, just the same way Randell had done. My parents ran forward, together with some other well-wishers.

Without being told, I knew that the wedding could not be more ruined.

"Are you okay?" We asked simultaneously

"I.. I need to use the restroom. Violet can you escort me there?"

My mom cut through immediately. "Tiana, it's your sister's wedding. Pamela can accompany you, or better still, I can do that". Her calmness spoke millions. I could recognize it.

"No!" She coughed. "She knows how to handle it better. I think I'm menstruating". Gasps filled the air together with loud murmurs. The priest, especially, was dumbfounded. He just stood with mouth agape.

My mom's face reddened. "Tiana, this is ridiculous. How..."

"No, it's alright," I took a quick glance at Randell. I needed some air. "I'll go with her. Which way is it?" I asked, helping Tiana stay steady on her stilleto.

"Behind," someone said

I walked quietly beside her to the restroom, wondering how best the failed ceremony could be fixed.

"Maybe Dad would be mad," I thought. But then, he didn't look mad when Tiana had caused the scene. He just looked indifferent. The only people that had been furious were Randell's parent. Their eyes had burned hot with anger.

We got to the restroom and we perched ourselves like birds on the sink close to the giant mirror

"I think you should wash your face, maybe that'll make you feel much better," I advised, taking a long scrutiny at her make-up covered face. "Do you have some tampons?"

"No, I came with an energy drink," she responded, pulling out a small energy drink that was small enough to fit into her hand bag.

"Oh, but..." I trailed off with mixed emotions. Was she kidding? Was everything a farce?

"I do have a pad tho," she shrugged, and opened the bottle.

"Oh!! That's nice" I said as I watched her gulp half the content. Atleast there was a handy solution.

She made use of a kerchief from her handbag to wipe the remnant of the drink on her lips "Would you like some?" She asked

"No! Not at all"

"C'mon, take it! You look pale," she said

And well she was right. I did feel a little tired

"Okay"

TIANA'S POV

I watched as she gulped the poisoned energy drink gently, as I pulled out the antidote to drink.

"What's that?" She asked

"Uhmm.. just some drug from the hospital" I said, gulping the whole antidote

I smiled sweetly to myself as she took every liquid in the bottle

Now let's see who will live to stay married to Randell.
