The sun peeked through the windows blinding and jolting a sleeping Nicholina awake.
She covered her face with her hands blocking the San ray from furthering blinding her eyes. She had forgotten to put on the veil after coming from the garden and so her face was now showing. Quickly she placed it on just in time as the maid entered.
Greeting Nicholina she bowed slightly and without a word headed towards the bathroom to prepare her bath. Today was the day of the marriage ceremony and preparation was being made till it was time for the appearance of the moon.
They believed that in order to bring together two people the moon must be there as a witness,as it is believed to be the eye of the supreme being. So even if the marriage was today it would be held later in the night where the moon was illuminating with its full glory. Nicholina sighed and made her way towards the bath house when the maid informed her that she has finished preparing her bath.
Soon after bathing Nicholina's room was filled with so many servants all in the name of preparing her for the ceremony. Sighing at the noise and giggles amongst the servants she just wish the earth would open and swallow her so
she wouldn't have to endure their noises.
As time neared Esmeralda finallyked into Nicholina's chambers to see to it that her daughter was well taken care of.
Nicholina slipped into an undergarment before sitting at the dressing table for the maids to do their magic. Some pink blush was applied on her cheeks and her long silky dark hair was curled and left to cascade, her lips were painted in red. They finally applied some rose scented oil on her hands before slipping her hands into the gloves.
Her silver gown had little diamonds in it that sparkled when light radiated on it.The gown fitted perfectly from her upper body and flowed down her lower body, her neck was adorned with a heavy diamond necklace and her hair was also adorned with a diamond crown. Nicholina looked splendid and elegant like a goddess from the heavens. Finally the veil was used to cover her face.
Finally it was time for the ceremony as the full moon has displayed its glory,Nicholina felt her stomach twist out of nervousness, as she sat in her bed all she wished for was the earth to open and swallow her up. Very soon she would be called to the ceremonial chambers and that made her heart beat like a drum.
The ceremonial chambers were bathed in the full glow of the moon, casting a silver beams through the grand arch windows. The room was vast, with towering marble columns wrapped in delicate ivy and red roses their petals shimmering under the moonlight. Aisles with flickering candle lanterns create a soft, golden contrast against the cool, celestial light pouring from above.
At the heart of chamber, beneath ornate domed ceilings painted with constellations ,stands a raised platform draped in a cascading silk. The fabric ripples like water under under the moon's touch, reflecting iris pale radiance. A crystal chandelier ,its facets both catching moon beams and candle lights, dangles like a constellation frozen in time.
The was a faint smell of night blooming jasmine lingers in the air, blending with a faint aroma of aged wood polished stone. Rows of elegant carved chairs are adorned with silken ribbons for the nobles that had the privilege to be invited. At the fall end right from the nobles stood beautiful thrones elegantly craved with ivy and red Rose's the designated place for the groom and bride and the fall right side stood two throne beautifully decorated for the king and queen.
The air was filled with whispers and giggles of excitement,a soft music was being played causing a soft soothing rhythm in the hush night. Curious nobles cast glances at the entrance eager to see their beautiful princess.
