A day has arrived part 2

Nicholina sat in her bed her mind a chaotic mess. She was so scared and nervous her hands couldn't stop shaking no matter how she tried to stop it. Very soon she would be sermoned by the priest to perform the tea serving ceremony in wait for her groom, with her shaking hands she wonder if she could serve it without spilling the tea.

She was so nervous she nearly jumped out of her body when a knock came from the door. Her already beating heart increased in it rhythm.

Esmeralda walked into her daughter's room alongside some maids with a smile on her face. As if knowing her daughter was nervous she decided to come and calm her before she was escorted by the maids to the entrance. As a female herself she knew what it felt like on your wedding day,she could recall how nervous she was when it was her wedding day. She sat by her daughter and smiled reassuringly "everything would be fine, just calm down and relax" Esmeralda assured her daughter.

"Is it time yet?" Nicholina asked her mother, as nervous as she was a curious part of her wanted to experience this ceremony and know how it felt like. Sensing her daughter's readiness she signaled to the maids to come and escort her daughter. She glance at her dress and couldn't help but adore her daughter's beauty, hugging her, she whispered "everything will be alright "

Every step Nicholina took felt like she was walking towards her death. She felt the edge to turn and run into the serene and solace of her chambers, but she knew better. This marriage was her kingdom and her parents life,if she is to turn back now what will be left of her parents and her people?. The maids upon reaching the entrance bowed slightly at her and left. Now she was just a step away from this marriage, her back was her freedom and independence and right in front of her was her eternal imprisonment. Leaving was her freedom yet the death of so many people and moving forward was her eternal imprisonment yet sparing the life of so many people. Taking a deep breath, she had made her decision and there was no going back now. She signal to the guards and they announced her arrival, lifting her head high and straightening her back she walked elegantly into the ceremonial chambers.

Everyone cast curious glance at the entrance as the bride's arrival was announced. As she walked elegantly into the chambers everyone gathered gasp in astonishment for the person walking towards the throne was a beauty directly from the heavens. Most females envied her and cast her envious glance yet she kept her head high. Men around wished within them that she was their woman for her beauty was very rare. As Nicholina neared her designated throne the once dead silent chamber became lively again.

Nicholina sat in her chair, her attention elsewhere heedless of what the priest was saying. She was brought back into her senses when her mother tapped her shoulders. It was time to serve the tea to her father. This particular tradition was very important in their marriage ceremony,it was to show if she was prepared to marry.

Taking a deep breath she walked to the table with the jar on it,it was right in the middle of the chamber so every eye would see and witness. She grab the jar with a firm grip on it to prevent her hands from shaking. She was determined to make her parents proud, pouring out the tea into the tea cup,she mixed it with the right amount of sugar and stirred it slowly her every move filled with perfection. Finally done making the tea she stood up and walked towards her father's throne, she was supposed to serve it to her father for him to show his approval and then the priest.

Richard took the tea and took a sip.The air was filled with tension as everyone waited to know his thoughts. Raising his head and looking at his daughter he smiled, and nodded his head in approval. Letting go of the breath she didn't know she was holding she walked towards the priest and also served him his tea. He took it and just like Richard nodded his head in approval. The tension lifted immediately and music started playing again.

Heaving a sigh, Nicholina walked back to her sit, just as she sat the groom's arrival was announced.
