Chapter 4: The World Begins to Fear

The Assassin's Guild in Chaos

Deep within the capital's underworld, a dark chamber flickered with candlelight. Inside, a group of elite assassins gathered around a trembling man—the one who had failed to kill Frank Luminous.

"You ran away?" a masked figure growled, his voice cold. "You, the top assassin of our guild, fled like a scared dog?"

The failed assassin clenched his fists. "You don't understand. That thing isn't human!"

The assassins scoffed.

"Are you making excuses?"

"How terrifying can a lazy noble be?"

The failed assassin's hands shook uncontrollably. He had faced kings, warlords, and even high-ranking mages, but never before had he experienced such fear.

"He wasn't even awake," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "He looked at me once… and my body refused to move."

The chamber fell silent.

The Assassin's Guild Master, a man clad in black robes, narrowed his eyes.

"You're saying Frank Luminous possesses an aura powerful enough to paralyze you?"

The assassin nodded frantically.

The Guild Master tapped his fingers against the table. "Then we have a problem."

A single failed mission wouldn't normally concern them, but the fear in their comrade's eyes was genuine.

"If what you say is true, then the contract on Frank Luminous is canceled."

Murmurs filled the chamber. Canceling a contract was unheard of.

"What if another client offers more?"

The Guild Master's eyes turned sharp.

"Then they can die trying."

The Emperor's Dilemma

Back in the Imperial Palace, the Emperor sat in his study, deep in thought. He hadn't slept since his encounter with Frank Luminous.

That boy… what is he?

Despite having the authority to rule an empire, he felt like an insect before Frank's gaze.

Suddenly, an imperial messenger burst into the room.

"Your Majesty!" The man bowed deeply, sweat trickling down his face. "A report from the Assassin's Guild!"

The Emperor frowned. "Speak."

"The guild has declared Frank Luminous untouchable."

The Emperor's hands trembled slightly.

It was starting.

The world was beginning to fear him.

Meanwhile, at Luminous Manor

Frank sat on his couch, flipping lazily through a book.

Elise watched him from the corner of the room, her emerald eyes filled with curiosity.

"Young Master," she said hesitantly. "Did something happen last night?"

Frank turned a page. "Hmm?"

Elise crossed her arms. "The mansion's guards reported nothing, but I felt something strange. Like… an overwhelming pressure, just for a moment."

Frank yawned. "You're imagining things."

Elise narrowed her eyes. Liar.

She knew something had happened.

But Frank Luminous never explained himself.

Not when he saved a village from a monster horde with a casual flick of his hand.

Not when he silenced a raging storm just by raising his palm.

Not when a king knelt before him, begging for mercy.

He never took credit. He never claimed responsibility.

He just wanted to be left alone.

But the world wasn't going to let that happen.

And Elise knew it.

The world was getting closer to discovering the true Frank Luminous.

And when they did…

It would be too late.
