Chapter 16: The War Against a Sleeping Lord

The Gathering of Kings

Within the Grand Celestial Hall, the rulers of the continent assembled.

The Emperor of Valeria, the King of Drakovia, the Queen of Astra, and countless other sovereigns sat around a grand table, their faces grim.

Before them stood a figure cloaked in divine radiance—a messenger of the gods.

"You have all received the prophecy," the divine messenger spoke, his voice echoing through the chamber.

The Emperor of Valeria, a towering man clad in golden armor, narrowed his eyes. "You claim this man, Frank Luminous, threatens the world itself?"

The divine messenger nodded. "Not just this world—all of existence."

The King of Drakovia, a warrior king known for his brutality, scoffed. "I've seen this so-called 'Lazy Lord.' The man does nothing but sleep and eat. Are you telling me he is a danger to the gods themselves?"

The divine messenger's expression remained unreadable. "Yes."

A silence settled over the room.

Then, the Queen of Astra, a woman draped in silver robes, leaned forward. "Then tell us, O messenger of the divine—why have the gods not handled him themselves?"

The divine messenger hesitated.

That moment of hesitation was all the rulers needed.

The Emperor of Valeria smirked. "They fear him, don't they?"

The messenger's silence spoke volumes.

The King of Drakovia let out a deep laugh. "So the gods want us to deal with their problem?"

The divine messenger's gaze hardened. "You are not 'dealing' with a problem. You are saving your world from annihilation."

The Queen of Astra sighed. "And if we refuse?"

The divine messenger's voice turned cold. "Then the gods will withdraw their blessings. Your kingdoms will crumble. Your lands will fall into ruin."

The Emperor of Valeria clenched his fists. "So we have no choice."

The divine messenger nodded. "Summon your armies. The war begins at dawn."

Frank's Peaceful Nap

Meanwhile, under the same cherry blossom tree, Frank Luminous was taking a nap.

The soft breeze rustled the leaves above him, and the warmth of the afternoon sun bathed him in comfort.

He was, as usual, at peace.

Elise, however, was not.

She paced back and forth, gripping a letter in her hands.

"Frank," she called.

No response.

"Frank."

Still no response.

Her eye twitched. She bent down and pinched his cheek.

Frank's golden eyes slowly fluttered open. "...Why?"

Elise shoved the letter in his face. "The entire continent just declared war on you."

Frank blinked.

Then yawned.

Then closed his eyes again.

Elise's jaw nearly dropped. "FRANK!"

"What?" he muttered. "I'm trying to sleep."

Elise felt her patience snap. "THEY ARE COMING TO KILL YOU!"

Frank sighed. "Let them come."

Elise stared at him, stunned.

For a long moment, neither spoke.

Then, finally, she took a deep breath. "You're not going to do anything?"

Frank opened one eye, meeting hers. "Why would I?"

Elise felt her frustration boiling over. "Because they're sending millions of soldiers to kill you!"

Frank let out another long sigh. "Fine."

Elise's heart skipped a beat. "Fine?"

Frank stretched his arms. "I'll move to another spot if they get too noisy."

Elise nearly screamed.

The March of a Million Soldiers

Across the continent, armies mobilized.

A million warriors marched under countless banners, united under a single cause—to destroy the Lazy Lord.

They crossed mountains, rivers, and vast plains, their weapons gleaming under the sun.

The Emperor of Valeria, leading the charge, raised his sword. "Today, we slay the greatest threat to our world!"

The soldiers roared in response.

They had no idea what awaited them.

The Gods Watching from Above

In the Divine Realm, the gods watched in silence.

Tyran's fists clenched. "This has to work."

Astraea's expression was unreadable. "And if it doesn't?"

Tyran's voice darkened. "Then we are truly doomed."

And so, with the fate of the world on the line, the war against Frank Luminous began.
