A Kingdom in Crisis
In the grand capital of Solaria, banners of golden lions fluttered in the wind.
The kingdom was at peace.
Or so it seemed.
Within the Royal Palace, the air was tense.
King Alden III sat on his golden throne, his sharp eyes locked onto a young man standing before him.
This was Leon Everhart, the kingdom's greatest hero.
Blond-haired, blue-eyed, clad in shining silver armor, he was the pride of Solaria.
A warrior blessed by the gods themselves.
And yet…
Even Leon was furious.
"…You expect me to ignore him?" he asked, his voice cold.
The king sighed. "Leon—"
"This man—this Lazy Lord—dares to mock our world with his inaction! While we struggle, while we train, he does nothing and yet claims to be strong?"
The royal court remained silent.
Only Prime Minister Reynold, an elderly man with a long white beard, dared to speak.
"Leon, my boy," Reynold said gently. "This is not about pride. This is about survival."
Leon scoffed. "Survival? From what? A man who sleeps all day?!"
Reynold closed his eyes. "The gods have warned us."
"Cowards," Leon spat.
The court gasped.
Even the king's expression darkened. "Watch your tongue, Leon."
But the hero clenched his fists.
"I have trained for years to become the strongest. I was chosen by the divine! And yet, now you tell me that a man who has never lifted a sword in battle is superior to me? That I should bow to him?!"
Silence.
The king exhaled slowly.
"…What do you plan to do?"
Leon's eyes burned with determination.
"I will challenge him."
A Challenge is Issued
News spread fast.
Within a single day, the entire continent learned that Leon Everhart, the Hero of Solaria, had officially challenged Frank Luminous to a duel.
Many reacted with excitement.
"The hero will put that lazy fraud in his place!"
"It's about time someone taught him a lesson."
"Leon will win. He's the strongest warrior alive!"
Others, however, were terrified.
"Does the hero have a death wish?"
"The gods themselves refuse to fight him…"
"This will not end well."
Meanwhile… at Frank's Estate
Elise stood in front of Frank, holding the challenge letter.
Frank blinked at her.
"…So let me get this straight."
He stretched lazily on his couch.
"This guy, Leon, wants to fight me?"
Elise sighed. "Yes."
"Why?"
She massaged her temples. "Because he thinks you're an insult to warriors everywhere."
Frank frowned. "That's not very nice."
Elise gave him a flat look. "Frank, that's the least of our concerns."
Frank yawned. "Eh."
Elise's eye twitched. "EH?! That's all you have to say?!"
Frank sat up. "I mean, it's not my problem."
Elise took a deep breath.
She had known Frank for a long time.
And if there was one thing she had learned…
Frank only did things when he felt like it.
"…So what's your plan?" she asked.
Frank stretched again.
"I guess I'll go."
Elise blinked. "Wait, really?"
Frank smiled lazily.
"Well… I haven't been outside in a while."
The Stage is Set
And so, it was decided.
The duel would take place in Solaria's Grand Colosseum.
Tens of thousands gathered to watch.
The king sat on his throne, flanked by nobles and knights.
Leon stood in the center of the arena, his sword shining under the sunlight.
And then…
Frank arrived.
Wearing his usual loose robe, his black hair messy, his golden eyes half-lidded with boredom…
He yawned as he stepped into the arena.
The crowd booed.
Leon glared at him.
"You dare show up like this?" he growled.
Frank blinked. "Like what?"
"Like… LIKE THAT!" Leon gestured at Frank's outfit. "You didn't even bring a weapon!"
Frank scratched his head. "I didn't think I needed one."
The crowd exploded with rage.
"DISRESPECTFUL!"
"LEON, DESTROY HIM!"
"TEACH HIM HUMILITY!"
Leon clenched his sword.
"…Then you will regret it."
The battle was about to begin.
