"So what do you say, Masato-san? Ready to take the next step forward towards the evolution of mankind." Ryu asked.
Ryu held his breath, waiting for a reply.
Everybody was lost for words and did not reply immediately but kept staring at Ryu.
Just then one of the employees started clapping, and one by one they all stared, standing and clapping.
The conference hall echoed with the sound of claps. Except for a few reserve Gennin, all of the people in the convention hall were men of science, not Shinobi. They all clearly understood Ryu's vision and were amazed by his ideas.
Masato Nakai stood last from his seat and said, "I look forward to working with you, Director of Innovation, Mr. Hamura."
Masato Nakai clearly expressed his trust and acceptance by using his designated title and name.
Ryu shook Masato Nakai's hand and said, "I look forward to it as well. Me too."
Ryu smiled and thought, 'With this, the first pillar has been laid.'
After the meeting was over, Masato Nakai took both Dan and Ryu to his office room to discuss the next steps and finalise arrangements for their collaboration. They had already prepared the room, as they hoped that he would be working from this branch office rather than the main office at Fire Capital.
Masato Nakai said, "I didn't know that you would be bringing your brilliant grandson to the company, and he would also be working with us. If we had, we would have prepared one more room for him."
Dan said, "No need. I won't be working from the office. You can have this room, Director Ryu."
Ryu also shook his head and said, "Actually, I will also not be working from the office. Masato-san can have this room for himself."
Masato Nakai, "But Director Ryu, without your ideas, we wouldn't be able to realise your vision."
Ryu assured, "Don't worry. I'll work from home. I'd like a design lab set up there with your capable staff acting as my secretary and facilitating communication. You and your trusted associate can manage the company while I focus on the prototypes.""
Masato Nakai realised Ryu was not going to focus entirely on the research. He understood that Ryu is a ninja in the making. The genjutsu he had used for demonstration showed that he is also very talented as a ninja. He asked, "Director Ryu No offence, but you are better suited for research than being a ninja."
Ryu replied, "I understand your intentions, Masato-san, but believe me when I say we live in a world you cannot protect if you are not strong enough."
"So, I really need to become powerful enough to protect myself and what I have. When the working prototype is ready, many people will be targeting our company, in my opinion."
Ryu took out a scroll and instructed, "I want the design lab and the listed materials set up at my home. Do not worry about the cost."
"Speaking of cost. Let's move on to the next subject... the cost. How dry is the business's cash?" Ryu asked.
"We have enough money to sustain ourselves for a year, even without taking on new projects. We used to have a big client list; we sold them circuit boards and chips, but our competitors slowly took over the market due to poor decision-making by my earlier boss. His extravagant lifestyle also did not help. Now I have no worries, as I know you will be making all the decisions, Director Ryu." Masato Nakai replied.
"A year, huh. I aim to have the prototype ready for proof of concept for the long-distance communication system by the end of this year. Will it be possible?" Ryu asked
Masato said, "It may be possible if we focus all of the company's strengths solely on this project. However, this will result in a shortage of funds before the end of the year and also affect delivery of our other projects to our clients."
Ryu replied, "Do not worry about money. Grandpa has many ongoing Fuinjutsu projects, almost ready to sell."
Dan's eye twitched when he heard that. He thought, "What project?"
"We also have to do something about this building too." Ryu said.
"What are you trying to do with the building? You want to expand it?" Masato Nakai asked.
"Yes. I want a structure that is big and tall that will also double as the tower I showed in the presentation. You must know that the height of a tower is inversely proportional to signal strength."
"I didn't know," Masato said with a surprised look. "If what you said is true, then we can potentially cover the entire village if we build it right."
Ryu said, "You are right. Look here... This will be how I imagine this building."
Genjutsu—[Mind Palace] projection activated
The genjutsu displayed to Masato Nakai and Dan depicted a massive skyscraper, illustrating the design visually.
Masato Nakai looked at the building and said, "This is huge. Is this even physically possible?"
Ryu replied, "Yes, it is."
Then Ryu should give him a small genjutsu animation of how buildings were made from bottom to top, starting from ground compacting to underground base preparation required for modern skyscrapers. Ryu showed the intricate process of constructing skyscrapers, emphasising the importance of engineering and technology in making such structures possible."
This explanation helped Masato Nakai and Dan understand the feasibility of the building shown in the genjutsu projection.
"This is amazing." Masato Nakai said this after watching the animation.
Dan was impressed by the complexity of the process and remarked, 'This shows the extensive planning and effort required to build something like this.'
Ryu said, "This will be the tallest man-made structure, solidifying Hamura Industries as a world-renowned name."
Masato Nakai asked, "How are we hoping to reach the top of this? Climbing the stairs would be a nightmare."
Ryu smiled and showed him a clip of a working lift inside and outside of the building, which will make it much easier to reach the top.
Masato Nakai asked, "How are we going to power that?"
Ryu made a hand gesture, and the image zoomed in on the top of the building.
"This is a kinetic power generator," Masato Nakai asked.
Ryu replied, "Yes, it is a vertical wind turbine to generate power using winds."
He continued, "The building is also connected to the nearest river that has a small hydropower generator. I will also be working on a device that harnesses the power of the sun. I need the materials on the list to make that possible. If I succeed in harnessing the power of the sun, then we will also sell that product commercially for profits. It will be our first product as Hamura Industries."
"Ryu then pointed to the building and said this device will cover the entirety of the building's surface to power the building."
This product is easily scalable for commercialisation, generating revenue for our projects. Moreover, it aligns with our goal of sustainable energy solutions. As Hamura Industries grows, we will focus on developing innovative products that benefit the environment and our business.
Masato Nakai thought, "A project to harness the power of the sun. Is that even possible? If it can be done, it's going to change the world. Every nook and cranny of the world will be able to light up in the darkness. It will truly revolutionise the way we think about energy and sustainability. The potential impact of this project is immense and could bring about significant positive change globally."
Genjutsu—[Mind Palace] projection deactivated
Masato Nakai asks him, "How can we harness the power of the sun?
Ryu explains, "By converting every bit of sunlight, just like plants do, into other forms of energy that we can use, like lightning or heat. I will show you how once you have provided me the items I have asked for and set up my lab near my home."
"How are you able to come up with these groundbreaking ideas so fast?" Masato Nakai asked.
Ryu replied, "Thinking is my speciality, and it's due to my special ability to memorise. Once I have read something, I never forget it. And I have read all the books you have written on electrical systems and electronics. My ability to absorb and retain information allows me to excel in various fields, not just electrical systems and electronics."
Masato Nakai thought, 'While having a good memory can be helpful in learning and retaining information, it does not necessarily translate to being able to innovate or come up with groundbreaking ideas quickly. Creativity and problem-solving skills are also essential in developing new concepts and technologies. This boy's creativity is off the charts.'
"I will set your plans in motion and ensure everything is prepared promptly, including setting up your lab at your home. My team will conduct a thorough survey of your residence today to facilitate a smooth setup. Additionally, I will personally select a reliable secretary to assist you, Director," Masato Nakai assured Ryu.
"Very well, we will now take our leave." Dan Hamura replied.
Director Ryu and Dan Hamura left for their home, and Masato Nakai briefed his staff and delegated the work assigned by Director Ryu.
