Chapter 145: Itachi Uchiha Vs Ryu Hamura-Part 2

Itachi was thrown some distance, but he soon composed himself and balanced himself and launched another fire bullet, but Ryu again jumped some more in the air, left and right, conjuring the [Reflex Guard] every step of the way.

Itachi thought, "How is he doing this? I have not seen anything like this; he is using those shields like stepping stones and also using lightning release to increase his speed."

He then noticed another thing: "The lightning is hurting him, but he is not backing out and healing himself. That must be very painful. Is this what conviction is? Is this what makes him strong?"

Ryu thought, "This method of speeding up is not ideal; the distance is very short, and he can see where I am going. It's good for dodging, but not for attacking. Also, if not for [Super Healing], I would have been toast in just a few minutes. I need to finish this fight soon, or I will exhaust myself before I win, or he will figure out the weakness of this method."

Ryu then had a new idea. He jumped high and landed upside down on a [Reflex Guard], and another shield formed right behind the first and moved closer to it and started vibrating as it stored energy and kept getting closer.

"Like I said, you lack conviction, and you cannot beat me without it," Ryu said.

As Ryu was storing lightning chakra between the barriers, Itachi thought, "He is up to something; I need to stop him from doing whatever he is planning to do."

Converting it into potential energy

Ryu launched himself when both sandwiched [Reflex Guard] exploded, pushing Ryu at high speed. If not for his high and fast thinking capacity, Ryu would have trouble at such high speed. He landed where Itachi was a second ago but missed him. Itachi jumped back a step at the critical moment.

Itachi made the next move and came with intent to punch him, and Ryu did the same but in slow motion. As they were about to punch each other, Ryu smiled, and Itachi's punch landed on a [Reflex Guard], but Ryu's kept moving.

He looked in his eyes and clearly saw a change; he thought, "So this fight awakened something in him. But still, it's my victory."

The punch knocked him off his feet, sending him flying several feet away.

As the dust settled, Itachi was on the ground, and Ryu was still standing. Lightning was dancing around his body, and hexagonal shields were floating around him as he declared, "I think I should consider this my win."

Soon Shisui and others landed near Itachi. Shisui asked, "Itachi, are you all right?"

"You were not under the impression that I would go easy on you just because I am a fan. Were you?" Ryu said.

Shisui, Akira, and Kenji all asked themselves, "Fan?" "What fan?"

"If fans are like you, then I hope I don't have any more fans." Itachi replied while coughing in between words.

"You should be thanking me. Two-tomoe Sharingan from the start is very rare." Ryu said, surprising everyone present there.

Shisui, Kenji, and Akira looked into Itachi's eyes and were surprised to see a two-tomoe Sharingan in both eyes.

"You sound like you know a lot about it." Itachi said, and Ryu just smiled but did not answer.

Ryu then looked at Kenju, Akira, and Shisui and said, "The next time one of your men awakens Sharingan while fighting me, I am going to charge your clan for my awakening services. Tell that to your clan leader."

Kenji's and Akira's faces twitched hearing that. Shishui laughed hearing that and said, "I will convey your message to the clan leader."

"Itachi, he roughed you up pretty badly. He may have won, but you also gained significantly from this fight," Shisui said. "Don't hold this loss against him like others."

Kenji's and Akira's reactions were that they recounted how they each behaved around Ryu after losing to him. Inside, they both grudgingly admitted that Shisui was right that they should not have held it against him and kept bugging him.

They also realised that even if they keep bugging him, that won't do good to them. He was too overpowered for an academy student to beat in the first place.

Akira stepped up and said, "Shisui-san is right. Ryu, I apologise for not accepting my loss like a ninja and acting like a kid."

Kenji wanted to say something, but he could not forgo his pride and clenched his fists. Akira continued, "I am sure Kenji also feels the same way."

Ryu replied, "Fine, I will forgive and forget if you all also forget what happened here. I don't want my trump cards revealed."

Shisui nodded and looked at Kenji and Akira, who both nodded. This silent promise was all good for Ryu as he smiled.

"Itachi, you wanted to talk, but considering your condition, we should postpone our discussion until you have recovered. It's best we speak in private to avoid unwanted listeners," Ryu suggested, acknowledging the need for confidentiality.

Itachi replied, "I don't think that is necessary anymore. You are too good when talking with your fists. I already got the answers I needed punched into me the hard way."

"We had an agreement. You and I fight, and then we have a talk. Besides, I haven't even gotten your autograph yet. Once you have healed, you can come to my place." Ryu said, walking away and waving his hand.

Akira and Kanji were still shocked. But what Shisui said next shocked them even further.

"Both of you, under no circumstances should you provoke that boy into becoming an enemy," Shisui warned, emphasising the potential danger of underestimating Ryu.

Akira asked, "Is he that strong?"

"Yes, he is. But more than strong, he is dangerous." Shisui replied.

"Shisui-san is right," Itachi said. "That kid is a monster. He is already at Chunin level. May be higher."

"What?" Kenji said. "But he is still in the first year."

Shisui said, "Listen, Kenji, in this ninja world, strength is not measured by age. On the battlefield, you will find ninjas as young as you but stronger than me. Underestimate a ninja on the battlefield, and you will die."

He continued, "This kid in the future will become an elite among the elite. Don't challenge him just to challenge him. Unless you can fight him properly, wasting his time is an insult to him. Even if the two of you fight him together, you cannot even land a proper hit if he is not holding back. And do not speak of this battle to anyone."

Both Kenji and Akira nodded, finally acknowledging Ryu's strength.

Itachi then looked at Shisui and asked, "What were those barriers? I have never seen or heard anything like it."

Shisui replied, "It was some kind of defensive seal. I have never seen anything like it either. But I heard Shinnosuke-san, who is a member of the Fuinjutsu Council, talking with Lord Fugaku that a new seal has been developed in the village by an old grandmaster in Fuinjutsu, and it's very compatible with Sharingan."

The revelation surprised the three juniors in front of him.

Shisui continued, "I heard him say that if our clan acquires that seal and we pair it with our sharingan, our strength will increase leaps and bounds. And from what Shinnosuke-san explained about the working of that barrier to Lord Fugaku, I can say that the seal this Ryu Kid used is the same seal."

"It must be his grandfather," Akira said. "I've heard that an elderly, retired Jonin looks after Ryu. So it must be him."

Shisui nodded and thought, "Maybe Akira is right; it's his grandfather's fuinjutsu that Ryu used in this fight. But these two and Itachi did not know enough about fuinjutsu, and so they have not noticed it during the fight. The way he looked at the seal and how it changed suddenly. Ryu is at least a sealmaster who had slotted the seals for rapid fire. I should keep that secret with me. No one is going to believe that even if I tell them. Besides, he helped Itachi awaken, so I owe him that much."

"Big brother Shisui, what are you thinking?" Itachi asked.

"I am thinking about how I am going to explain the circumstances of your awakening to Lord Fugaku." Shisui replied.

Just when the word awakening came to Shisui's mouth, he remembered Ryu saying something about charging for his awakening services.

Shisui smiled, remembering what Ryu had said, and thought, "So he wanted me to tell Lord Fugaku and earn him a favour from him and the Uchiha clan. Ok, I will tell Lord Fugaku what I need to and withhold the rest."

"Ok, let's get Itachi to a hospital first. I am going to get an earful from Lady Mikoto if I take him home like this," Shisui said, and they all left the training grounds.
