"Mr Keller, is this true?!"
"How many weeks gone are you ma'am?!"
"Please answer our questions! We need more coverage!"
Leonard growled at the greediness of the press behind them and then turned his hateful gaze towards her. He knew what she wanted, women like her were gold diggers and she might be faking a whole lie just to get some money out of him.
He took a deep breath in and managed a small smile.
"And this baby is mine?" he asked in confirmation
"100%" she returned it with a confident smirk. That was all he needed and he left her there and went inside. The press called him back aggressively but he knew better than to give them an opportunity.
That night was memorable. The next morning was set on fire. Every news channel carries the video of last night when she came to crash the party and Leonard's reputation. Skye watched everything in her bedroom while sipping on her cup of coffee. She took a deep breath in and rubbed her stomach, she hoped she was making the right decision because her case was extremely dangerous.
The ringing of her phone brought her out of her thoughts and she gave it a glance, but quickly returned back to it when she realised who was calling. She answered the call.
"What the hell are you doing Skye?!" Her boss screamed through the phone and she swore she could have been deaf. She tried to defend herself but he didn't give her the opportunity to speak, she only stuttered, "come to the office immediately!" And the line went silent.
Skye took a deep breath in, she knew she had gotten herself into shit. It only took her 30 minutes to get to the office and her boss had summoned her and her friend and a few other people.
"Is this how things are done Skye?! Pregnant for a criminal! You've got to be crazy to pull this off!" Her boss was literally pulling his hair out, her head was hung and her arms behind her back until he stomped his foot bringing her back to the room, "are you pregnant?"
"If you would just let me —"
"Are you pregnant Skye?!" He huffed in anger.
"No I'm not!!" She lied with the same amount of energy he shot at her, "if you would just let me explain!" She commanded it, her boss took a breath and went back to his seat, giving her the opportunity to speak, "thank you. This is the only way to get to Leonard."
"Couldn't you have told me at least?" Her bestie was hurt and she felt a sudden wave of guilt.
"I'm sorry, but this is my mission and it's a bit rash but I had to do something. Leonard is surrounded by people 24/7, the only way to become close to him is to be part of those people."
"And?" Her boss gave her more time to speak.
"This was the best way possible. Before you gave me this case I had met Leonard in the club, we talked for a while, that was the only thing I could use to hook him." She didn't tell the whole truth but it was enough.
"You do know that this is dangerous right?" She looked at her boss before looking at her best friend, Arianna was not having it and out of irritation, she left the room. Skye felt bad for hurting her but she had no choice, "what exactly is your game plan?"
Skye took a deep breath in and made a head gesture, "Marriage."
The meeting took a toll on Skye's health as she returned to her house mid afternoon. She was mentally drained and just wanted to shut herself away from the world.
The truth was that she was also pregnant with Leonard's child but there was no way she was going to be able to tell her boss and wouldn't lead to her being fired. She grabbed her phone and dialled her bestie's number, it kept saying unavailable.
Another long breath was released and she dropped to her bed, dozing off for a little minute, she was awoken by the ringing of her phone. She grabbed the device and peered and it was an unknown number. She didn't pick it but the number called again.
Then she picked it.
"Go to the nearest cafe and turn on your location, I want to see you." The voice gave her chills but she knew very well it was Leonard.
"30 minutes. I'll be there." The line dropped and she grabbed everything she needed. Her purse which held some notes, fake IDs, her pocket knife and her gun.
She looked at the Dan Wesson DWX that had her name engraved on it, it was her favourite and there was no mission she didn't take it with her. She wore a very loose dress and put on her disguise. Midnight coloured hair with emerald eyes, a touch of makeup and she was ready.
She got to the cafe and it did as he said, soon a black car rolled in and she went in immediately. She wasn't alone, men were in it but she was relaxed. The car made a look to the hospital where a doctor examined her before the car took her to the fanciest parts of the city.
It rolled into a multi million dollar mansion that was beyond her imagination. She had never seen a house as beautiful as this one. She walked slowly to the entrance, the double doors were wide open for her to see what the inside looked like. And as she entered, Leonard came down with a towel in his hair, some fitted black pants and a lot of skin.
Both eyes caught each other and he flashed her an evil smirk. He gestured for her to sit down before his form disappeared and she did, examining everything around her. He owned a tech company but his house was filled with antiques, he was such a contrast.
He came back with two glasses of wine and handed one to her. She eyed it sketchily.
"It's not poisoned." He smirked a bit more before taking her glass and having a sip, he returned it back to her and took a seat opposite her, "You look a bit different than from when I saw you that night at the club." He pointed.
"Anyone can dye their hair blonde and wear contacts." She retorted before taking a sip of the wine, it was rich, she liked it and her expression showed it.
"So what exactly do you want from me? Money? Property?" He snapped and his men brought a file to him, "if there is even a baby…" he moaned loudly as he read the report.
"I have no reason to lie to you. I'm not after your wealth." She rolled her eyes before taking another sip of the wine, she could get used to this.
"So what exactly are you after my little Angel?" He closed the report, he had confirmed that she was really pregnant, his attention shifted towards her appearance, she was even more beautiful in her natural state, he loved what she looked like and how she exhumed confidence, he was attracted to her.
"I want you to take responsibility for the baby." She set the glass down once the wine was almost depleted.
"That's not an issue. How much do you want?" Another snap and they had bought his chequebook, he signed and gave the paper to her, "write any amount and it is yours." He scanned her like a hawk as she wrote on the piece of paper, he knew all she wanted was money. And money he had. She handed it back for him to see, his brows raised to a height, "what is this?"
"I want to be your wife."
