Mo Shian had not expected Weiwei to be so direct. Even without her saying it, he had already started to suspect that something was up with Xia Xinya, but he did not expect that she pretended to care about her sister but in fact, was trying to ruin her life.
He could also understand why his beloved wife had treated him so badly. She is naïve and too trusting, especially when it comes to the people close to her. That was why Xia Xinya managed to lie to her and she believed those lies. He could only thank his lucky stars that Weiwei found out about her plan before their marriage turned to dust.
Nevertheless, he was not going to leave the matter alone. He had to teach Xia Xinya a lesson.
Mo Shian reached across the table and held Weiwei's slightly cold hand. He caressed her hand lightly while looking straight into her eyes.
"I know you are too trusting and believed her because, to you, she is family. But you have to understand that not everyone who smiles at you in this world wishes you well." Mo Shian felt that he needed to educate this little girl about the ways of the world, otherwise she would not even know when someone sold her and might even help them count the money.
"I know; I always thought that Xinya was my sister and wanted me to be happy; I didn't expect that she actually hated me and wanted to ruin me. If I hadn't heard some things by accident, I would have walked straight into the abyss she created for me."
Even though Weiwei said that, only she knew that she had actually walked into that abyss in her previous life, which resulted in Mo Shian's and her death. She didn't want a repeat of that. That's why she chose to be forthright about Xia Xinya's plans with Mo Shian because she didn't want accidents to happen.
While the two were talking, their waiter walked in and served the dishes. Mo Shian let go of Weiwei's hand and started putting different dishes in her bowl.
"You need to eat more, you are too skinny." He told his wife as he heaped the rice bowl with her favorite sweet and spicy pork. Weiwei had noticed that her husband liked to feed her and it didn't matter whether she was skinny or not. He just wanted her to pig like there was no tomorrow.
"Enough, I can't finish all this food. If you keep feeding me like this I'll turn into a pig soon."
"How can you turn into a pig, you are so cute and sweet. Having more flesh will make you even cuter." Mo Shian smiled as he told Weiwei what he thought.
However, upon hearing what her husband said, Weiwei was even more sure that he wanted to turn her into a little pig. Weren't little pigs the cutest little animals?
"No, I can't eat that much. I won't be able to go out and meet people if I get so far. Besides, what if I become a fatty and you don't want me anymore?" Weiwei couldn't help jesting. Of course, she knew that no matter what happened, the man would never leave her, but she just wanted to make fun of him.
"You don't have to worry about that. No matter what you become, you will always be my precious wife."
As expected, Mo Shian was still the same as he was in her previous life. He loved her regardless of what she did. That was one thing she was grateful for since any other man would probably have given up on her after all the trouble she put him through. When she remembered how in her previous life, he had died to protect her even though she had treated him like an enemy for five years, she felt a sense of sorrow creep into her heart.
Mo Shian was very sharp and detected the change in Weiwei's emotions. He didn't know what she had thought of to bring that look on her face and the melancholy surrounding her
"What is wrong, Baby?"
Hearing Mo Shian's voice brought her back from her memories and she looked up only to be met with his worried eyes.
"Nothing…. I was just thinking we haven't been on a date for a long time." She could only find a random excuse since she couldn't tell the truth.
"It's okay, we can go on as many dates as you want. Just let me know where you want to go and I will make the arrangements."
Mo Shian could tell that she was hiding something from him, but he didn't expose her and just went along with her excuse. Anyway, he knew that she would tell him what was bothering her when she was ready.
The meal came to an end in a happy atmosphere and the two left the restaurant hand in hand. It was the first time Weiwei had allowed Mo Shian to hold her hand in public. He felt so happy because this meant that she was really serious and didn't mind making their marriage public.
He slowly opened her hand and intertwined their ten fingers. For the first time in a very long time, Mo Shian felt like a young boy at the first awakening of love. It was the kind of happiness that spread warmth from his chest to the rest of his body.
He could also feel his heart beating faster like a deer was running in his chest.
On the other hand, Weiwei wasn't any better. She felt a little shy displaying their affection in public but didn't resist. Heat crept to her face and her cheeks flushed. Anyone who saw this couple would be able to tell that they were madly in love with each other just from their body language. Even though Mo Shian still looked somewhat expressionless.
"How about we go watch a movie? There's a cinema in the mall across the street. We can catch a movie there instead of going home so early." Weiwei suggested as she still wanted to spend sometime on a date with her husband.
She felt that she had to make up for everything that she didn't do in her previous life and going to the movies was one of her regrets.
