Jet visiting the beach that has been provately booked a third month in a row by the biggest trouble maker he knows, sighs watching Luna coming out of the water, "Hey, I thought I told you that I want to meet with you today at my father's office."
Luna smiling at the necklace she found at the bottom of the sea turns to Jet, "Badass find or what?" She holds it out and twists her wrist for him to admire it from all angles.
Jet feeling ignored responds to her with a sense of urgency, "Luna, please take me seriously here." He tilts her chin up to get her full attention, "Can you please show up. I need you there."
Luna looks away to move Jet's hand from her face, "I will be there. Why are you acting like I wouldn't?"
"Because you're the only person who never listens to me." Jet hooks their arms together and walks with her towards the change rooms, so he can take her home.
Luna admires the necklace. There is something about it, that is calling for her full attention. It's a white vase with a water elemental symbol embroidered in gold, the chain is pure gold with a magnetic clip, "Wow."
Jet sweeps Luna off her feet, carrying her to the change rooms, "Hurry up." He even opens the door for her and puts her down once he is in front of her locker, "Bridget has been stalking me," Jet shares what has been bothering him, even if they broke up, Luna is the only person he can comfortably confide in, "Got any idea why that is?" He blushes and looks away immediately, turning his entire body when Luna takes off the diving suit in front of him.
"I may have passed the rumor you're into her and now the idiot is trying to get your attention, which has resulted in you wanting absolutely nothing to do with her." Luna looks at Jet who turns around and smirks finding his hot and bothered reaction funny.
Jet looks down having nowhere else look, "Please get dressed."
"I am." Luna takes a red dress and wears it.
"Why did you do that in the first place?" Jet asks after a long pause.
"She gets on my nerves, simple as that," Luna brushes the dress and all the time she was told she looks ugly in it crosses her mind, this is not the dress she wanted to wear but there is no other clean option, "And you're the boss. If I can get you to hate her, than I have gotten my revenge." Luna wears slippers and takes a hair dryer going to the mirror to plug it in. She just realized, if she was smart she would have dried her hair first and gotten dressed after.
"Luna," Jet Smirks, "This wouldn't have anything to do with you being jealous would it?" He follows her and stands next to her crossing his arms.
"No, she was always talking about my relationship, so I gave her something new to talk about." Luna aims the hot air from the dryer at him, "You."
Jet grabs the dryer, "I think it's about you wanting me back." He looks her in the eyes trying to find some truth to that, she is so happy with Milton, it makes his stomach burn, and his heart races just thinking about it.
Luna ignores him and dries her hair. Tying it in a bun when she is done.
Jet looks at her seeing something in her eyes like she is not okay, but he lost her trust she will get more upset if he questions her about it, "Luna, why are you rejecting Royal Academy. For s stupid art school. You're the best at energy science," he resorts to questioning her about something else, "Your batteries always make my tech function better than anyone else's. You could learn so much more from the school, why fashion?"
"It's what I love, and I am only good at High Tech because I wasn't allowed to have a social life, constantly expected to be the perfect genius and I'm finally getting a chance to be free, express myself, and Art school is exactly the instrument for that." Luna turns on her heels and puts the hair dryer back, her best excuse to walk away from the conversation.
Jet sighs, "I respect that, but could you still make Tech at your school? Fashion Tech is fine by me. I won't infringe on your personal space, I respect that decision." He cups her cheek, "Stop fighting me, I'm not against you." He leans in and she steps back and looks away crossing her arms, "You know I love you, even if things between us are over. I will always look out for your best interests. Please show up for me today. I need this to work."
Luna feels a pang of guilt after Jet's confession of love for her "Fine, take me home. I won't be late." But at the same time it hurts that he figured it out when she is with someone else.
"It kills me watching you be happy with that bastard. I hate that my father holds him in such high esteem, he will one day be my right hand man, and by his side is the woman I love." Jet kicks a random locker within range, "Dad is making him an Alpha, I hate that."
Luna takes her duffelbag, "What does all this Alpha stuff mean? I don't get it."
Jet follows Luna as she leads the way out of the change rooms, "It's rankings in our organization. We have Alpha's, my fathers big 5. His advisors, the ones he shares everything with, openly and honestly. The role of Alpha is inherited and it is carried by the male child. Betas are the descendents of the Female member of the Alpha family. For example, I have 2 older sisters. I am the next head of the family despite being the youngest because I am a male child, when my sister marries she will have to change her last name to her husbands surname and that family will be given the rank of Beta, they are not equal in position to Alpha's, but a Beta family can be promoted to Alpha, and an Alpha demoted to Beta."
Luna nods, "I see, what about Govenors."
"They are like CEOs. They run their specific fields. For example, how I want to run the tech industry, but you want to run the fashion industry. Hypothetically speaking I will be the Govenor of High Tech, and you'll be the govenor of fashion trends and media. Govenors do exactly as the name suggests, they Govern." Jet opens the car door for Luna.
"Funny you never did that for me when we were together, but you're being so good to me now that we've broken up. Clearly staying broken up is the best option." Luna decides to slide the petty comment into the conversation as casually as she can manage without making it obvious she is hurt, Jet is starting to treat her well after she is with someone else.
Jet exhales holding back the hurt behind staying on topic, "Govenors run specific territories, and answer to Alpha's, and Alpha's answer to my father." He keeps his face straight refusing to show any emotion. His body moves automatically, reaching for the front seat door, "Anyway, let me rush you home. I need to check on Helia. He's another problematic individual who might not show up." He looks at the envelope his driver just slipped him and notices the costs Luna is paying to keep people out of the beach so that the waters clean, "Luna, you know if you asked I'd buy this entire place for you right? Money is not an issue for me, you can't keep this up."
"I know, it would mean a lot to me if you did. The water has never been cleaner since people don't come here anymore." Luna looks at her necklace glowing and suddenly stopping. She looks at it closely, "I swear this symbol looks familiar."
Jet smiles, "Consider this entire property all yours."
Luna glances at the necklace and ignores it, "Thank you. That's .. thoughtful."
"Something I wasn't when we were together, I know. I see now why you were right to dump me," his lips curl into a sad frown, "I'm sorry Luna. I know you're still hurt by what I did, and I know saying I'm sorry doesn't fix anything, but I truly regret it." Jet turns around.
Luna nods, "An apology means a lot."
"I mean it." Jet faces the front and calls Helia to check what mood he is in, "Drago."
"Piss off."
Luna laughs, "He's in a good mood today." She sarcastically comments.
"Damn that hot head." Jet sighs, "I need him anyway. Luna please be on time. I won't come back and get you."
"Stop panicking and show some trust in me."
"Fuck." Jet doesn't trust very easily, "Okay, I trust you." He bites his lip, he doesn't believe what he just said, "Wear something comfortable, no need to come in formal wear."
"Thanks for the heads up." Luna hangs up on Bridget after accidentally answering her call, "Did you tell someone you're coming to see me?"
"Yeah, why?" Jet huffs when Luna holds up her phone and Bridget is calling her, "What does she want from me? It's creepy ... the way she has been behaving."
Luna laughs, "It's going to be so good watching you tell her off."
Jet shakes his head, "Don't stoop to her level Babe, this is not you, don't give her the satisfaction of getting this kind of reaction out of you."
Luna exhales, "I know you're right, but they are awful to me. I'm scared of them, what am I supposed to do?"
"Come to me. I know you can't talk to Milton since his sister is one of them, but you can always run to me. Even if before I was a jerk, I've changed, trust me back." Jet takes her phone answering the call, "Noon, don't be late." He hangs up, "I will deal with those girls who call themselves the Diamonds. I'll cut them down to size."
Luna nods, "Just keep my name out of it, or you will make things worse for me." Her necklace glows again.
"Don't be afraid, with me around, you never have to be afraid again." Jet smiles at her and notices the necklace, "Cool, it glows."
"Yup. I like that."
