MIA'S POV
I paced back and forth in the dungeon not because I was scared or looking for a way to escape but because it was cold and it was dominated by rats. Big rats that would be mistaken for squirrels. They ran around the dungeon and their red eyes darted fast to study us the prisoners that were kept there.
They were currently feasting on a decayed corpse and their squeals were getting louder and more irritating as time went by. I decided to ask some questions that had been on my mind lately but when I turned to face Kate, she was already studying me with her eyes that seemed to hold many secrets which would swallow one into the abyss.
“You know”, she started, “they are actually feasting on a werewolf's corpse.”
My eyes widened in shock and horror and she just chuckled at my reaction and continued what she was saying.
“Alpha Kane went to make some inquiries in a part of this park where the wolves who dwelt there said that they saw a strange car driving off and they also reported hearing children's screams.”
“Okay”
I was eager for her to continue. I stepped closer with her eyes never leaving mine for a second.
“When he was talking to the representative of that part of the park, this unfortunate wolf decided to anger Alpha Kane by telling him that he is not a true Alpha, long story short, they engaged in combat, he was killed by Alpha Kane who brought his corpse here as a gift to the rats.
I kept quiet. actually adding to David's problems. No wonder the park thought he was not worthy of ruling when he had a dog as a father.
Kate laughed and looked at me with a smile. I was immediately on edge, could she hear my thoughts?
We heard footsteps and then the door to our dungeon opened and the Beta who arrested us and brought us there was the one who stood before us.
“Alpha Kane has ordered that you come for a hearing in front of the elders.”

I, Kate, Alpha Kane, David, Gordon and some old men that I haven't seen since I arrived in the park were all present in the room.
Alpha Kane was currently saying what transpired between us in his study and he narrated it as though I wanted to kill him. After he was done the elders were quiet and beckoned on Kate to speak.
Kate started narrating from when we left the Alpha Mansion to when we reached the library, made donations and I went to go and check out some books in the library. She went on to narrate how the rogues hit our car with theirs and how when she tried to fight one of the rogues, she found out that he could control his body's density and he thus made his body strong like a rock and how when she threw her punch, it hurt her more than it did to the rogue.
Kate then stopped, took a deep breath and told the elders that I had shifted easily in the sun into a huge white wolf and spoke in my wolf's form.
The elders were shocked and so was Alpha Kane, he wasn't saying anything again. Kate also decided not to speak anymore of the incident.
“Are you sure you saw right?”, Alpha Kane questioned. He was looking uncomfortable and was avoiding eye contact with me.
“Yes, Alpha Kane. But if you think I am not telling the truth, you can ask Elder Owen to read my memories.”
“There is no need”, the supposed Owen croaked as he looked at Kate without breaking eye contact, “she is telling the truth.”
The room went silent and Alpha Kane massaged temples with both hands. He was jittering and the veins on his head bulged. David squeezed my hand to comfort me.
“And now our judgment”, a voice Spoke, “ I condemn you Mia, to always follow your mate David on his quest to find the missing kids seeing that you are a very powerful wolf and also his mate, he needs you by his side and you kate, seeing that your future luna saved you and you owe her your life, you are to always obey her every instructions, that is our judgment.”

David held my hand gently as he offered to take me to a nice place to cool my head off. He had some maids prepare some snacks for us.
A car drove speedily into the driveway and a blonde haired man who looked sickly and pale got out of the driver's seat and staggered towards David, grabbed his shoulder and said,
“Brother, I just saw a house on fire at the north of our Park, the only one with a sunflower garden.”
I was surprised that this strange man called him brother but what made my blood run cold and my mouth dry was the fact that the house he said was on fire was the one mama was at.
