I Don't Need You to Do This

The next morning, the bedroom door opened, and Robert stood there in a sharp suit.

Sophia's sleeping posture wasn’t elegant—her pale arms wrapped in the quilt, long legs exposed, and her black hair scattered on the white pillow. Her stunning face looked even more breathtaking under the morning light.

Especially the faint mark on her snow-white skin—it reminded him of what had happened that night.

Thinking of that moment, Robert subconsciously reached up to loosen his collar, his expression unreadable. Then, he turned and left.

When Sophia finally woke up, it was already noon.

She was shocked that she had slept so long in a strange room.

When she entered the dining room, the first thing she saw was Robert and Anthony sitting at the table.

Last night, the lighting had been dim, but now that she saw Anthony clearly in the daylight, she realized how delicate and lovely he was. He looked like an angel who had just descended to earth, making it hard for her to look away.

Anthony saw her walk in and looked at her timidly with his big black eyes.

Sophia smiled gently at him, but he quickly shrank back and hid in his chair.

Robert noticed Anthony’s reaction and reached out to pull him into his arms. His handsome face remained cold, emotionless, and he didn’t even spare Sophia a glance.

Sophia could tell Robert didn’t like her, but she also felt helpless.

She never intended to do anything to him.

But she didn’t want to fall out with Robert, especially after he had saved her.

"Master Miller, I'm sorry about last night." She took a deep breath, walked over, and sat beside him with a smile. "I never intended to seduce you in that way, I—"

"Don't speak so freely in front of my son." Robert’s cold gaze swept over her.

Sophia quickly shut her mouth and glanced at Anthony. The child was peeking at her shyly with his big eyes.

"Baby..." She smiled sweetly, her voice gentle. "I'm sorry. Don't take what I just said to heart."

She didn’t want to accidentally teach Robert’s son anything inappropriate.

If that happened, there wouldn’t even be a need for Joseph to kill her. Robert would do it himself.

She had to be careful.

Robert observed her gentle expression and soft voice, his gaze flickering slightly.

Anthony, however, quickly buried his head into Robert’s arms when she spoke to him.

"Master Miller, baby is shy," Sophia said with a smile, looking up at Robert.

After dinner, Anthony was taken away by the butler, leaving only Robert and Sophia in the dining room.

The atmosphere was too quiet. Sophia spoke first.

"Master Miller, your son is so cute."

Robert frowned slightly. "Isn't he your son too?"

"Uh..." Sophia quickly smiled. "Yes, of course! Our son is so cute. I really like him."

Robert's expression eased a little, but his eyes looked deep into hers. "Aren't you afraid of him?"

"Afraid?" Sophia was puzzled. "Why would I be afraid?"

Robert's gaze darkened. "He is completely white from head to toe—different from ordinary children."

"So what if he's different?" Sophia asked seriously. "There are no identical people in this world, and children are the same. I’m not afraid of him. He’s like a little angel, so sacred and lovely. But..."

"But what?" Robert asked.

"But when I talk to him, he never responds to me." Sophia looked disappointed. "He doesn’t seem to like me."

Robert’s eyes softened at her words. "Anthony doesn’t dislike you. He just has autism."

Sophia was stunned. She hadn’t expected such a young child to have autism.

"I thought he was just shy around strangers," she said, then hesitated before asking, "What kind of illness does he have that made his hair completely white from head to toe? And... where is his biological mother?"

Robert's expression turned cold, and a chill ran through his body.

"You have a lot of questions," he said.

Sophia noticed Robert's displeasure, and her face turned pale.

"Master Miller, I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything else. I just care about my son's health. After all, with such advanced medical technology now, can't his illness be treated?" she asked.

Robert's eyes were cold as he stared at Sophia for a while. The chill around him gradually faded.

"My son has albinism," he told Sophia. "This disease is caused by a genetic metabolic disorder that makes him lack melanin in his body, resulting in his whole body being snow-white and different from ordinary people. He developed autism after being mocked by others, and there is no cure for it."

Sophia's eyes were full of heartache when she heard this.

"Master Miller, please rest assured, I will accompany him more," she said.

"Since you are so willing to spend more time with my son..." Robert's eyes flashed with a deep light, and he took out a document and threw it in front of Sophia. "Sign it."

"What is this?" Sophia asked, looking puzzled at the contract in front of her.

Robert leaned back in his chair, looking noble and cold.

He looked directly at Sophia with his deep phoenix eyes, and his thin lips lightly opened: "Yesterday, when I went to the Mu's to pick you up, I found out that you had resigned. So, from today onwards, you will join the Miller Family Group and become my personal secretary."

"Master Miller, I resigned from Garcia Group and haven't decided on my next job yet. Besides, you already have an assistant. Do you really need me?"

"An assistant and a personal secretary are two different things," Robert gazed at Sophia.
