Hearing this, Rylan let out a cold laugh.
"What can I do? Obviously, I'll perform the surgery for the patient. I'm her primary doctor."
He glanced at Orion standing next to me and said disdainfully, "Even if you let this patient go to your surgical department, Orion would end up doing the operation anyway."
"In my opinion, letting him do the surgery is worse than letting me do it. I can do it better than him!"
I looked at him angrily, taking a deep breath to calm myself down.
"You're playing with the patient's life."
"Rylan, is it worth doing such an unethical thing just to compete with Orion?"
"This isn't a game, it's a real human life. If something goes wrong during the surgery due to your lack of skill, can you take responsibility?"
I tried to persuade him, saying in a gentle tone, "Stop being stubborn and hand this patient over to us."
Little did I know my words seemed to have struck a nerve.
