Chapter 14: Addition, Merging, Fusion!

What impressed Lunaire the most about Erian's ability wasn't that it granted her the ability to see and perceive everything within five meters all around her but that it also made it possible for her to see every form of energy flow around her including the flow of mana.

That meant that the tiger's trick of burying flame mines and luring them into them was no longer going to work as she could clearly see where the other two mines were hidden.

Watching its meal escape from its grasp just like that, the tiger let out an angry growl before dashing toward Erian as he appeared to be the easier meal for it now.

However, just before the tiger could get to him, Lunaire infused her staff with mana, and the staff suddenly began to glow.

Swiping the staff toward the beast she sent out a black energy slash similar to the one that Erian watched slice someone's fingers off toward the beast.

The only difference was that this one seemed to be coated with a white aura on both edges.

The slash hit the beast's head forcing it back as it let out an angrier growl.

Not willing to give the beast any breathing space, she charged straight toward the beast afterwards, appearing in front of it in no time.

Raising the staff, she aimed for the beast's head with a close-up slash. However, the beast was fast enough to jump back in time, avoiding the slash, which ended up hitting the ground instead.

Unfortunately for the advanced tier beast, Erian had already predicted that part of its move.

The moment it took a step back to avoid Lunaire's attack, he was already in front of it.

Spinning the seven-inch needle in his hand, he stabbed it deep into the tiger's eyes.

With one of its eyes disabled in the most painful way possible, the tiger roared in pain as it blasted a flameball at Erian who was right in front of it.

Just before the flameball could make contact with him, Lunaire appeared behind him swiftly pulling him out of the way and using her body as a static bar, Erian swung toward the right side of the tiger.

For a moment there, it looked like he was going to kick the tiger's side, which, with his tiny legs, wouldn't do much.

He was very aware which was why he suddenly slid under the tiger the moment he let go of Lunaire's hand.

Pulling out another needle, he stabbed it deep into the tiger's stomach before rolling out.

Lunaire appeared on the tiger's back at that exact moment, and with her staff infused with enough mana, she slashed down on its back.

The excruciatingly painful attacks from the top and bottom hitting the beast at the same time, it let out a thunderous roar filled with pain and anger.

Its whole body got engulfed in flames soon afterwards, forcing the two to retreat backwards.

If it was just one of them against the scorching tiger today, then someone might have already been seriously injured, but their abilities worked very well together, increasing the chance of taking down the tiger.

However, no matter how much working together increased their chances against the tiger, they were still facing an advanced tier beast, an advanced tier beast that was yet to show its third skill.

Its growls slowly grew calmer; the tiger stomped its front limbs on the ground multiple times before letting out a roar.

The beast had roared so many times throughout the fight so there was nothing really special about it.

There was nothing special about it, but not this time.

This time, the roar sounded more like a screech than a roar, a screech that would make ears bleed.

"What is that?" Lunaire gritted her teeth in pain as she covered both of her ears with her hands.

However, her eyes were not enough to block out the sound, and the next second, she found herself disconnected from Erian's absolute view, the blue glow in her eyes disappearing.

It seemed like the little bit of protection she had came from the shared skill because soon after losing connection she began to feel her consciousness fading away.

She tried to fight it but she lacked the means and strength to fight something like that.

It didn't ta

ke long before her consciousness was completely consumed as she crashed down on her knees, her head slumped down like a lifeless doll.

"Hey!" Erian screamed as he turned to her.

Soon after passing out, Lunaire found herself in a burning pit, her whole body covered in aggressive flames that consumed her body.

The pain was excruciating and before long, Erian found her screaming in pain even though her body still looked lifeless.

This was the scorching tiger's third skill, the illusion of hell, a skill that directly attacked one's mind, leaving them as mindless prey afterwards for the beast to consume.

Watching Lunaire scream like that, Erian fought even harder to keep his absolute view activated, his heightened awareness made it difficult for the tiger to easily take over his mind.

However, it was only a matter of time before his ability was completely surpresed.

"No, I can't lose consciousness, we're practically dead if I do."

Sinking his teeth deep enough into his lower lip enough to make it bleed and folding both of his hands into fists, he raised his head, looking directly into the one eye the tiger had left.

"I have to give it a try, the consequence is obviously not much worse than dying."

Closing his eyes an image of both of his mana lines appeared in his mind.

Both mana lines were at level nine so it was just mana line on each side, his spatial mana line was flowing with a very vibrant golden colored mana and the other one was flowing with blue mana.

"Addition." He muttered as he joined both of his hands together.

Right at that moment, the spatial mana line suddenly began to move toward the blue one.

"Merging."

Getting to the blue mana line, the golden mana line slowly began to merge with it, its golden mana flow slowly turning to a blue one.

As the golden one merged with the blue one, it grew bigger and more mature.

"Fusion!"

Right at that moment, the two mana lines completely fused together as another mana line, a premature one, suddenly appeared beside it.

Erian shot his eyes open at that moment, the blue glow in his eyes now brighter.

"Invasion!"

As soon as that word left his mouth, three blue vines that only he could see burst out from the ground and, with their pointed tips, pierced through the tiger's head.

The screeching roar suddenly came to a halt as the tiger staggered a few steps back.

Now free from the tiger's torture, Erian stretched his hand to open a portal from which he pulled out the lance his mother gave to him five years ago.

'I have to finish this quickly or that would have been for nothing.'

Stabbing the lance into the ground, the four white threads burst out, latching onto all of the tiger's limbs.

With the tiger's movement restricted for a moment, he charged straight toward it, another seven-inch needle in his hand.

Spinning the needle as he closed in on the tiger, he wasted no time stabbing it deep into the tiger's other eye.

The tiger growled and roared in excruciating pain breaking the binds from the lance, but Erin wasn't done yet.

Opening another portal, he pulled out his favourite weapon over the past five years.

With the dagger he cross slashed on the beast's throat before impaling the throat.

"Ahhhhh!!!" He screamed as he pushed the dagger deeper into the tiger's throat.

Out of desperation, the tiger allowed its flames to consume its body once again; that was the only way it was able to force Erian to jump back, leaving the dagger stuck in its throat.

From that moment onward, it was a desperate struggle for the beast as it staggered from left to right, its roar and growl increasingly growing weaker.

It took about twenty seconds of struggling before the beast crashed down on the ground, its body now devoid of life.
