Intimacy with Viperus
"You're stupid!" Kite fumed, glaring at the system. "Snakes beast are all cold, and you're afraid I'm not sick enough yet!"
[No, host, if you get close to the snake beast, you'll earn love points that can be exchanged for items,] the system explained, its digital eyes blinking earnestly. [Love points can only be obtained within a one-meter radius, so you need to get closer.]
Kite's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you sure? Why does sticking to the snake beast generate love points? Is he in love with me? Impossible, right?"
She shook her head vigorously, dismissing the absurd notion. Different species, impossible! Luo Kite glanced over at Viperus again. His long eyelashes rested peacefully on his face, casting a delicate shadow. He was still, likely asleep.
The call of the warm quilt was irresistible.
Kite steeled herself, rising quietly and inching towards Viperus, her movements careful and deliberate. She settled herself next to him.
"Closer," the system prodded.
With a sigh, Kite leaned against Viperus's arm, silently praying, "Don't wake up, don't wake up..."
Pretending to sleep, Viperus was acutely aware of the little female pressing against him.
The once trembling little female now voluntarily approached him. It puzzled him, but he relished in her closeness.
His eyes remained closed, his senses zeroed in on the warmth where her body met his. Her soft, inviting warmth and sweet fragrance filled his lungs, sending his mind into a fervour. Somewhere in his body, an uncontrollable reaction began to stir.
He fought to remain still, suppressing any sound.
His breathing deepened.
Kite held her breath as she finally checked the love points, thrilled to see they had surged by 30,000.
Euphoric, she quietly tiptoed back to her hay, clutching her thumping heart. She exhaled softly, opened her eyes, and quickly navigated to the mall page.
There it was—a quilt!
Joy bubbled up in Kite. But then, she saw it cost 50,000 love points...
What!
How could this be?
Wait a second.
This is cotton?
Cotton would suffice, with some fabric it could become a quilt.
Kite quickly found another two meters of white cotton cloth. The 30,000 love points vanished in an instant.
With her newly acquired materials, Kite transformed herself into a snug silkworm chrysalis, about to burst into joyful tears as she buried her head in the quilt.
Viperus, tormented by the distance, opened his reddened smoke-blue eyes and gazed at the little female bundled up.
Was she cold and found something to wrap herself in?
His curiosity was piqued, and he planned to seek out similar materials tomorrow.
Kite, basked in warmth, drowsily felt someone tugging at her quilt. Half-awake, she waved her arm, "Get off!"
Her random gesture slapped Viperus's face.
Viperus caught her soft hand, kissed it and then wrapped it around his neck. He lay down, holding the silkworm cocoon quilt close, channelling his beast energy to raise his body temperature slightly above hers, and closed his eyes.
The bonfire in the cave gradually dimmed...
Kite had a dream.
In her dream, she floated as a wandering spirit over the city.
She returned to her former home.
An extravagant Maybach was parked outside the ornate gate. The door opened, and a tall man in a well-tailored suit, exuding cold nobility, emerged.
It was her adoptive parent's brother.
He entered the house, went straight to her room, and picked up a photo frame from the table, his trembling hand caressing her cheek.
"Kite, where have you been? I'm going crazy looking for you!"
His eyes turned red. "I finally waited until you graduated from high school, but then you disappeared. They all say you're dead, but I don't believe it. You must be alive!"
"Kite, wherever you are, I'll find you! Wait for me!"
The man lowered his head as if to kiss the frame.
Kite's heart pounded with emotion, tears streaming down her face as she reached out to him, "Brother, brother, I'm here! Pull me back!"
Viperus looked at the little female in his arms, her tears flowing and her thin arms outstretched, mumbling something.
His brow furrowed, his eyes glinting with cold suspicion.
Who is this brother she speaks of? Where does she want to go?
But she was his chosen mate, and no matter where she went, she couldn't escape him!
Kite slept until dawn.
She rubbed her head, trying to recall the dream, but it remained elusive.
When she opened her eyes, she found a magnified handsome face close to hers and a cold voice saying, "Awake?"
Her groggy brain slowly cleared, and Kite sat up, wrapped in her quilt, still dazed.
Viperus handed her a piece of hot barbecue.
Receiving breakfast in bed, Kite felt elated. She quickly got up, rinsed her mouth, and took the barbecue.
She took a bite but found it a bit greasy.
Seeing her hesitation, Viperus produced a few fruits wrapped in leaves, still glistening with dew.
Heart-shaped and red, resembling modern strawberries but twice as large.
Kite accepted them with surprise and gratitude.
She bit into one, finding it sweet and sour, akin to strawberries, juicy and delicious.
She quickly devoured several fruits, feeling rejuvenated.
The greasy sensation from last night's meat vanished, and the fruit seemed to aid digestion.
"It's raspberry, it grows on bushes," Viperus explained.
Viperus finished the remaining barbecue.
Though he could go days without eating, he wanted the little female to enjoy fresh roast meat, rather than wasting it.
After breakfast, Viperus went hunting.
He planned to procure a warm new hide for the little female, who seemed cold yesterday.
The sun shone warmly during the new moon season, and Kite moved the hay outside the cave, closing her eyes. To her surprise, her love points had increased to 70,000.
Puzzled, she pondered her activities last night. Strange.
Deciding not to dwell on it, she browsed the mall.
The system store was divided into two sections: one for exchanging love points and the other for reputation points. The items were plentiful but exorbitantly priced.
A bag of toilet paper costs 50,000 love points, requiring a whole bag of 10 rolls.
Though distressed, she had to buy toilet paper. She didn't want to use leaves, which might break.
She exchanged a few more items: 5,000 points for a comb, 5,000 points for needlework, and 10,000 points for floral cotton fabric.
In total, 105,000 love points were spent, leaving her with a balance of zero.
Oh no, she was poor again~
Kite picked up the needlework fabric and called the system for a chat.
[Little Six, explain love points and reputation points to me.]
[Host, love points measure the affection male orcs have for you, while reputation points reflect the gratitude and admiration other orcs have for you.]
[Love points can be exchanged for life items like salt, clothes, toilet paper, seeds, etc., while reputation points can be exchanged for survival skills and spells, such as spells, light body techniques, books, weapons, etc.]
[Is there an upper limit to these values?] Kite asked.
[Of course, within 5 years, both values must reach 10 million, otherwise...] The system hesitated.
[Say it quickly!] Kite urged.
[There will be a thunder penalty~] the system whispered.
What?!!!
Kite nearly jumped up, her head spinning. Her hand trembled, and the sewing needle pricked her fingertip, drawing a bead of blood.
Thunder Penalty?!
She wasn't immortal, she didn't want to ascend and face tribulation. She was just a mortal, why should she be struck by lightning? Her fragile body couldn't withstand such an ordeal! It was better to fall off a cliff and die painlessly!
Woo Woo Woo... She wanted to return to modern times
What kind of sin did she commit in her past life to be punished in this beast world?
Kite wanted to cry but couldn't.
A wild boar covered in stiff black hair and baring its sharp fangs stopped less than ten meters from the cave. Its beady eyes lit up at the sight of the small figure at the cave's entrance, and it let out a scream before charging.
Unaware of the fierce beast rushing toward her, Kite remained paralyzed with her gaze downcast.
5 meters... 1 meter...
The wild boar's foul-smelling mouth was inches away from Kite's face.
The nauseating odour jolted Kite awake. Her eyes fluttered open, only to see the three-foot-long drool dangling from the wild boar's mouth and the black cavern of its throat.
Damn! Kite was about to be scared to death.
Five years later, she didn't want to die yet, especially not in the belly of an ugly wild boar.
Her legs were too weak to stand. Playing dead wouldn't work against a wild boar.
What to do?
Ah! Ah! Ah! Is she going to die right now?!
The wild boar's sharp fangs grazed Kite's skin, and with a final, fearful thought, she fainted.
