His Handiwork Embarrassed Kite

Kite was startled, her hands clutching her clothes as she asked in a trembling voice, "What are you doing?"

"This snake beast always likes to move its hands and feet; it's too scary," she thought.

"I'll check you for wounds," Viperus replied his expressionless face and reddened eyes looking even more menacing. His hands continued to tug at her clothes, oblivious to the struggle.

What is this kite wearing? Layers upon layers, he wondered.

Kite's strength was no match for Viperus's. In no time, her inner garments were exposed. Embarrassed, she shrank to the side, crossing her arms over herself. "It's okay, I'm fine. I'm not hurt! Stop pulling my clothes! If you keep going, I'll be angry!" She waved her small fist at him in a feeble attempt to bluff.

The little female would rather die than yield, unaware that her petite frame could hardly withstand the powerful snake beast for long.

Viperus stared at Kite's angry eyes and pouting lips, puzzled. Why was she mad when he was only trying to check her wounds? He couldn't understand.

Seeing she was unharmed, Viperus relented and released her clothes. But then, he began to take off his own.

Kite was even more frightened. "What are you doing?!"

Viperus looked puzzled. "Don't you like abdominal muscles? I saw you staring at that white tiger's abs. I have them too; just look at mine. Feel free to touch them if you want!"

Kite covered her face in shock.

OMG! Is this really what the cold snake beast said?

And how did he notice her looking at the white tiger's abdominal muscles? Could he see it?

Kite hurriedly covered Viperus's open clothes. "I'll see it later. I'm tired today."

Viperus felt a little regretful, but he thought, there's always another day.

Reflecting on the day's events, Viperus said, "Kite, it was too dangerous today. Luckily, you're fine. From now on, I'll take you with me wherever I go."

He knew he wasn't skilled at caring for females, and the life of stray beasts was not suited for young females. Still, he couldn't bear to let her go. Although they'd only been together for a day and a night, he was already deeply attached. He couldn't imagine life without her.

He wasn't one to talk much, but around Kite, he spoke more in one day than he had in decades. He wanted to keep her by his side always.

Let him be selfish this time.

Kite watched Viperus's reddened, cold eyes slowly return to their smoky blue hue, and she sighed in relief. "Hmm."

Viperus took out a large piece of tanned white animal skin from his space and wrapped it around her. "The fur of this season isn't the best, but it'll do for now."

Male orcs weren't afraid of the cold and usually wore minimal clothing, even in winter. Females, on the other hand, dressed in layers of animal skins in winter. Kite's clothes were strange but beautiful.

Viperus considered making her a few outfits from animal skins. His snake molt could only be used for wraps and skirts, which were too cold to wear now.

Kite wrapped herself tightly and shrank to the side, blinking her wide eyes. This snake beast was surprisingly considerate.

Viperus noticed the crumpled floral fabric at the entrance of the cave and brought it inside with a flick of his tail. He inspected the crooked lines of thread and asked, "What is this for, Kite?"

Kite looked at the crooked threads, a bit embarrassed. Her handiwork wasn't great, but she hadn't expected to sew a quilt cover herself.

"I want to sew a cover for the quilt, so when the cover gets dirty, I can just wash it and air out the quilt inside," Kite explained and demonstrated.

The little female was so clever. Viperus thought it was a brilliant, trouble-free idea.

He pointed to the cotton ball next to him. "Is that going to be spread out?"

"Uh-huh." Kite nodded, spreading the cotton on the light cloth and folding it over. "This way, the cotton stays in place, and then you put on the cover."

It would be nice to sew another mattress, but she had run out of points in the mall.

Viperus understood the steps, took the needle and thread, and began sewing the quilt. "Kite, you rest. I'll do it."

Kite watched in amazement as Viperus's slender fingers moved swiftly, sewing the floral quilt cover in less than fifteen minutes. He then started on the quilt itself, a more challenging task, but completed it in half an hour.

Kite was stunned by the freshly sewn quilt. Viperus was so capable! Was this really his first time sewing?

After sewing the quilt, it was time for lunch. Viperus produced a clean bird and prepared to roast it for Kite.

Curious, Kite asked, "Where did you get this bird?"

"Male orcs have space when they reach a high level. It's small, but it can hold two larger prey," Viperus explained lightly.

Kite was envious. Life in this beast world was tough; what could she do in the future?

The system chimed in: [Host, we also have space.]

[Where is it? I didn't see it.] Kite was frustrated. [And why didn't you alert me when the wild boar appeared? Don't we have any life-saving tools?]

[Uh, I was in a meeting this morning.] The system, Little Six, tried to make an excuse. [We have regular meetings and training too!]

Little Six quickly changed the topic. [Host, our space needs to be exchanged for love points: 10,000 points for 1 cubic meter.]

Kite nearly choked. Ten thousand points? Where would she get those? Points weren't easy to come by, and the beast world didn't have cabbages!

As Kite talked to the system, Viperus took out a packet of salt, sprinkling some on the barbecue. This salt had been exchanged for crystals with the nearby Horned Sheep tribe, who had trembled in fear before the high-level snake beast.

Kite munched on the barbecue. Her stomach had been growling all morning.

Seeing her enjoy the food, Viperus's smoky blue eyes softened. He handed her a bowl of water, motioning for her to drink and avoid choking.

He would have loved to feed her himself, but Kite preferred to eat on her own, not wanting to owe him too much.

After eating, Kite took a nap wrapped in her new quilt.

Viperus wasn't sleepy and sat next to her, planning to make her some clothes and shoes.

When Kite awoke, the sun was setting in the west. She felt embarrassed, like a lazy person who only ate and slept.

She was no longer so afraid of Viperus and even relied on him a little. He was her only support in this beast world.

Just then, the system popped up again: [Host, remember the lightning penalty. You'll need to get familiar with the world, gather materials, and work on gaining prestige.]

Kite looked exasperated... What about taking it easy?
