Chapter 40: The Water Can Never Be Balanced!

"Kite, are you serious? You agree to be my mate?"

A pair of large hands gently wiped away the tears from her face.

Kite woke up crying.

The dream was too real, and the heart-wrenching pain left her gasping for breath.

Through her tear-blurred eyes, Kite saw Bai Ye looking at her with pity, and there seemed to be a hint of joy in his eyes.

She sat up abruptly, blinking her big eyes, and reached out to touch the man's face before her.

It felt warm.

"Bai Ye?"

She called softly.

Could this be another dream?

"Foolish Kite, I'm fine now."

Bai Ye wiped the tears from the little female's eyes again and said gently.

Is Kite made of water? She has so many tears.

Her long eyelashes were wet and stuck to the corners of her eyes. Her little nose was red, her eyes were puffy, and she hiccupped from crying occasionally. She looked as if she had been severely bullied, both pitiful and adorable.
