Chapter 32: Plans for Pokémon Battles

"Same as Bulbasaur—level 16," Ryo replied.

Sasuke nodded in satisfaction and stepped back with a pleased expression.

"Boss, my—"

"Your Chansey?" Ryo interrupted Sakura before she could finish. "It's not level-based. Like Kakashi's Pikachu, it requires a special item to evolve."

Sakura's face changed instantly.

Considering how expensive evolution items were, her family could technically afford it, but they would have to sell their house to do so.

Her parents were just ordinary people; there was no way they could produce that much money at once.

Naruto moved closer to comfort her. "Sakura, don't worry. We'll help you!"

Kakashi also offered his encouragement. "Keep working hard."

He didn't know what else to say. It's not like I can give her money, right?

The only advice he could offer was to keep doing missions and hope for the best.

Ryo shook his head. "There are other ways to get evolution items besides spending money."

Everyone looked at him in surprise.

"I plan to hold a tournament once more people have Pokémon. The winner will receive valuable rewards—possibly evolution items or even rarer ones."

"A tournament?" Kakashi raised an eyebrow.

"That's right. A Pokémon battle tournament," Ryo confirmed.

Ever since he was a kid, he had dreamed of participating in a Pokémon battle tournament with his own Pokémon.

Now that the opportunity was here, he wasn't going to miss it.

Kakashi's mouth twitched. Without saying a word, he turned around, ready to leave.

"Kakashi, where are you going? We haven't had our duel yet!"

In a flash, Guy appeared in front of Kakashi, blocking his way.

Kakashi looked at him, speechless. He opened his mouth to say something but thought better of it.

"Bushy brows, what are you doing? Don't block our way!"

Naruto stepped forward, completely unafraid, pointing at Guy with a bold expression.

This scene left everyone around them in disbelief.

Sasuke and Sakura felt utterly embarrassed.

Seriously, if you don't want your eyes, give them to someone who does.

Even if Naruto didn't know Guy, he could at least guess from how he greeted Kakashi. And considering the three people following Guy out…
