Present Day – Lorenzo's Move
Lorenzo Moretti stood beneath the glow of a flickering streetlamp, his suit crisp, his expression unreadable. His men flanked him, guns in hand, blocking the only escape route.
Elijah's grip on his weapon tightened, his stance poised for a fight. Dante exhaled sharply, stepping forward. "Lorenzo."
Lorenzo tilted his head, amusement flickering in his sharp brown eyes. "Cousin. You've been making quite a mess."
Luca leaned against Nathan for support, his lips quirking into a smirk despite the blood staining his shirt. "Funny. I was just about to say the same about you."
Lorenzo's smile was cold. "I should have killed you the moment you resurfaced."
Nathan's body tensed beside Luca. "You'd have to get through us first."
Lorenzo chuckled. "Oh, Nathan. Still playing protector?" His gaze flicked between them, sharp and knowing. "Some things never change."
Elijah took a step forward, his voice icy. "If you're here to talk, get to the point. Otherwise, we're leaving."
Lorenzo's expression darkened. "You think you have the upper hand?" He raised a hand, and his men cocked their weapons.
Dante's eyes flickered with a lethal promise. "You want a war?"
Lorenzo smirked. "I already started one."
Before anyone could react, more gunshots rang out. But this time, they weren't coming from Lorenzo's men.
Another group was closing in.
"Elijah!" Dante pulled him back just as bullets sprayed the pavement.
Lorenzo cursed under his breath, stepping back as chaos erupted. "We'll finish this later," he muttered before disappearing into the night with his men.
Elijah barely had time to process that before he heard Luca curse.
"Shit," Luca muttered, gripping Nathan's arm as blood dripped down his side.
Nathan's face tightened. "We need to get out of here."
Elijah nodded. "Now."

Years Ago – Luca & Nathan's Past
The first time Nathan realized he was truly in trouble with Luca was the night they shared their first secret.
It wasn't just the kisses, the stolen glances, or the way Luca smirked like he knew exactly how to drive Nathan insane.
It was the way Luca whispered, "You trust me, don't you?"
And Nathan, despite everything, had whispered back—
"Yes."
But trust was dangerous.
And in the world they lived in, it could get them both killed.
