chapter 21

"If no one has anything else to say, I guess this meeting is over," I said.

Kamiko raised her hands and started signing, "Can you make me a new suit? There's nothing wrong with the old one, but I just don't really like it."

"Of course. I can easily do that. What kind of design do you want?" I asked.

Kamiko signed, "Something all black. Tougher than my old one. I know I can heal fast, but it still hurts when people shoot me with armor-piercing rounds. My suit blocks them, but I still feel the impact, and I don't like the pain."

"I can upgrade it to be more high-tech and far more durable. The only problem is that it'll be a bit heavier. Right now, we don't have vibranium, but as soon as I get my hands on some, I'll remake everyone's suit with it."

"I can handle the added weight."

"Alright. Anyone else need to bring something up before we end the meeting?"

A few people shook their heads, and someone muttered a quiet "No."

"Alright, then. This meeting is officially over. You're all dismissed—except for Lorna. I need to talk to you for a moment."

Everyone began filing out of the room, leaving Lorna behind. Once the door shut and we were alone, she was the first to speak.

"You don't like that I rejected your idea of me being queen, do you?"

"Not at all," I assured her. "You didn't want the responsibility, and I respect that. Honestly, you even gave us a better alternative. The reason I asked you to stay is because I have something to tell you… and it's going to be a shock."

Lorna crossed her arms. "Okay. What is it?"

"First, I need to ask… you know Magneto is your father, right?"

She nodded. "Yeah. My mom told me a long time ago. If you're worried about me working with him—or fighting him if it ever comes to that—don't be. He wasn't part of my life, so I don't consider him my father."

"Good to know. But there's something else… Magneto has two other kids—Pietro Maximoff and Wanda Maximoff. They're twins."

Lorna went completely still. "What?"

Her voice was barely a whisper, but I could tell this information shook her to her core.

I stayed silent, giving her time to process it. She wasn't even looking at me anymore—just staring blankly at the table. After a few minutes, she finally spoke again.

"Where are they? Are they with Magneto?"

"No. He doesn't even know they exist. Right now, they're in Sokovia."

Her gaze snapped to me. "Are they okay?"

I hesitated. "No… they're not. Their parents died not too long ago, and their mutant powers have just activated. I was planning to get to them before Hydra—or Magneto—finds them."

"I want to come with you when you go get them."

"That's fine, but you can't just tell them you're their sister right away. You have to ease into it. I don't even know if they're aware they were adopted."

"I understand."

"That's all I wanted to tell you. You're free to go."

She nodded, still looking deep in thought, before she left the briefing room.

Once she was gone, I sighed and teleported to my room. I hadn't expected the meeting to last that long. After changing into my hero suit, I teleported straight to the medical wing. Ethan was still there, wearing a hospital gown. I picked him up and teleported directly to GCPD.

The second I appeared, every cop in the room reacted instantly—guns drawn.

"Okay, I guess I should've knocked first," I muttered.

Once they realized who I was, the officers hesitated before lowering their weapons.

"Sorry about that," a familiar voice said. "This is Gotham—we're all a bit jumpy when things suddenly appear out of nowhere."

I turned to the speaker. Jim Gordon.

He eyed Ethan warily. "Who might you have there?"

"This is Ethan Bennett—better known as Clayface."

At that, almost everyone in the station froze, their faces filled with shock.

"That's Clayface? What happened to him?" Jim asked.

"I cured him. Physically, he's completely fine. But mentally? I have no idea. I think you should have a therapist check him out."

I set Ethan down gently.

"Since Killer Croc has been missing for almost two weeks, I guess that you have him," Jim said.

"Yeah, I do."

"I'm guessing you plan on bringing him back cured as well?"

I shook my head. "No. He was born that way. If I try to alter his genetic structure, I could do more harm than good. The best I can do is keep him where he is—he's getting therapy there."

Jim frowned. "Why? You don't think GCPD can help him?"

"No. After all these years, you didn't. I think I'm the better option for him."

"Killer Croc is a criminal," Jim pointed out.

"And I'll make sure he never commits another crime again. Do you think he can escape me?" I said.

Jim held my gaze for a long moment, then sighed. "I suppose not."

I nodded to Jim before teleporting out of GCPD. With some time to spare before the kids got out of school, I decided to do some hero work. Taking to the skies, I flew over the city, keeping an eye out for anyone in need of help.

Five Hours Later

I was in London, just finishing up at the scene of a burning building. I had flown in, rescued everyone inside, and extinguished the flames using my freezing abilities. A few people had suffered injuries, so I took the time to heal them before making sure everything was stable.

Once I was certain the situation was under control, I teleported back to base. It was about time for the teenagers to get out of school. I appeared in the briefing room and immediately called for Church.

"Church, I want you to text all the Spider-Kids. Tell them to split up and head to different locations—somewhere with no cameras or people around. Then, open a ground bridge to their locations."

"Got it. I assume you don't want me to send that message to Anya, right?"

"No. I'm about to teleport to her home now to hear her mother's decision."

"Understood. I've sent the text."

"Thanks." With that, I teleported straight to Anya's house.

I appeared in the living room, and from the sound of things, Anya and Sofía were in the kitchen.

Sofía spotted me first and smiled. "Ah, Arsenal! Come, take a seat with us."

I walked into the kitchen and sat down.

"So… have you made your decision?" I asked.

Sofía sighed, looking a little tired. "Yes, I have. To be honest, it wasn't an easy choice. I thought about it all night, and after Anya woke up, we talked about it all day."

She took a deep breath before continuing.

"Anya can be a hero."

Anya's eyes lit up, but Sofía quickly held up a hand.

"I still don't like the idea of my daughter being in danger. But… she made a lot of good points. And I trust her. However, you have to promise me she won't go out into the field until she's truly ready."

I nodded. "I promise you, Sofía. Anya won't become a hero until she's fully trained and passes the tests. Plus, I'll have All Might personally teach her what it means to be a hero."

Sofía exhaled, relieved. "Okay then. You can take her."

Before teleporting, I hesitated and decided to ask her something.

"Sofía, would you and Anya like to live at my secret base? You'd be safe there."

She looked surprised by the offer but quickly shook her head.

"Sorry, Arsenal, but this neighborhood is our home. I can't just leave it. I have my job here."

I nodded in understanding. "I get it. But if you ever change your mind, just let me know."

With that, I stood up, walked over to Anya, placed a hand on her shoulder, and teleported both of us back to base.

Anya and I appeared in the Ground Bridge Room, where we waited for the others to arrive. One by one, they all showed up, stepping through the portals with expressions of curiosity and awe.

I spread my arms. "Welcome to Sanctuary!"

Their eyes wandered, taking in the massive base.

"Now, let's head to the training room. Bang and Panda should be waiting for us."

With that, I led the way. The group followed, their faces full of amazement as they took in their surroundings. Some of them were muttering to each other, still processing how advanced everything looked.

When we entered the training room, Bang and Panda were already there, standing in the center of the massive gym-like area.

Bang nodded. "So, you're the new students."

Panda grinned. "Sup. Name's Panda."

For a moment, silence filled the room. Most of the teenagers were frozen in shock—except for Peter, who seemed unfazed.

Gwen was the first to speak. "Did that… panda just talk?"

Panda chuckled. "Yep, I did. Nice to meet you."

Again, silence. The group just stared, struggling to process the fact that a giant panda was casually introducing himself.

Panda sighed. "Yeah, yeah, I'm used to this by now. Take a few seconds to process the talking panda thing. But trust me—I'm not the weirdest thing you'll see around here. Just wait until you meet the big cat, the dinosaur, and the electric mouse."

There was another moment of silence before they all snapped out of it. Some of them shook their heads as if clearing their thoughts.

I smirked. "Alright, looks like you're all finally over the shock. These two will be teaching you how to fight. Peter will help you master your spider abilities."

"Any questions?"

They all shook their heads.

I nodded. "Good. In that case…" I crossed my arms and grinned.

"Web Warriors—welcome to your training arc!"

Two Months Later

Two months have passed, and I gotta say—things have been going well.

I've helped a lot of people across multiple countries, even stopping wars along the way. While I'm still not as famous as Superman, my name is definitely gaining recognition worldwide.

The Web Warriors have also been progressing well. They're still not active yet, as their training continues, but some unexpected developments have happened.

For starters, Miles discovered he has bioelectricity.

I expected him to gain control over them eventually, but what I didn't expect was that the other spider-teens also had unique abilities.

Cindy can generate her own webbing and produce pheromones that can knock people out.

Julia developed stingers, similar to Scarlet Spider.

Anya also has bioelectricity, just like Miles.

Gwen discovered she can control spiders.

To say I was surprised would be an understatement—I wasn't expecting all these different mutations.

The only one who seemed disappointed at first was Peter. He complained about how he didn't get any extra powers like the others. That changed real fast when he found out he was actually the physically strongest out of all of them.

Not too surprising—he's had his abilities the longest and was the first to undergo training.

Other than that, my company is doing really well too.

Now that I think about it, I never actually told you the name of my company—Omnitek Nexus.

Anyway, it's thriving. We're well-known, and we have plenty of contracts across the United States. The Gotham police especially love our bulletproof vests—they've saved a lot of lives.

Omnitek Nexus is also making waves in entertainment. We've developed multiple games from my old world, along with movies, anime, and TV shows. On top of that, we've launched new, better smartphones at reasonable prices.

To put it simply—everyone loves Omnitek Nexus.

Something unexpected happened on the island—the other teenagers I rescued from Hydra now want to be heroes too.

Dr. Cecilia was highly against it at first, but after I explained the strict training process they'd have to go through, she reluctantly agreed.

Koro Sensei, on the other hand, was completely fine with it. As long as his students were following their hearts' desires, he had no objections.

Even though they started training with Bang early, they still have a long way to go before they're ready.

They've also gotten pretty close with the Spider teens.

Oh, and Pikachu took a liking to Frankie—they even sleep together (not in a weird way, just cuddled up). Illyana and Ace also became really close—Ace sleeps in her room on a pile of blankets to stay comfortable.

And yeah, I definitely noticed the little romance blossoming between Dani and Rahne. Let's be honest—who didn't see that coming?

Right now, I'm watching over the teens as they hang out at the beach. They're not in the water, just talking, mostly about how they got their powers.

Tyrone: "So… all of you got bitten by a radioactive spider and just… became superhuman?"

Spider Teens (in unison): "Pretty much."

Anya: "Okay, but how did you guys get your powers?"

Rahne: "Most of us are mutants—our powers kicked in during stressful situations."

Frankie: "A particle accelerator exploded in Central City, spreading dark matter. That's how I became a metahuman."

Peter: "That's cool. What about you two?" [gestures toward Tandy and Tyrone]

Tandy: "We got ours from heroin."

The entire group goes silent.

Miles: "…I think y'all drugs were laced."

Peter: "Laced with what? Physics?! How is that even possible?"

Tandy: "We have no clue. One moment, we were normal, and the next—we had powers. Then Hydra captured us."

Tyrone: "I'm like 80% sure we're still high. I mean, we've talked to a panda, our teacher looks like an octopus, Frankie is literally holding an electric mouse, and that's not even the weirdest thing we've seen on this island."

I laughed at Tyrone's comment.

"Don't worry, Tyrone—everything is real," Koro Sensei suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

I frowned. Where did he even come from? Then I remembered—he had asked me to watch over the kids while he handled something.

Tandy spoke up first. "Hey, teacher, where's Cecilia?"

"She's just resting—just a little tired from a workout," Koro Sensei replied.

Frankie blinked in surprise. "Since when does she work out?"

"Not too long ago—about a month now," Koro Sensei said. Then, he quickly changed the subject. "Anyway, let's not talk about that too much. Thank you, Ed, for watching over them."

"No problem. Gotta go," I said before teleporting back to my room.

I lay on my bed, letting my thoughts drift. A lot has changed on the island.

Pietro and Wanda, for example.

They were a complete mess when Lorna and I picked them up. They didn't trust me at first—not even as Arsenal. But I get it. They lost everything. I'd be paranoid too.

Still, they're adjusting well. They're in therapy, and Lorna spends a lot of time with them. But she still hasn't told them they're related—she's waiting for the perfect opportunity.

And then there's the spider.

Yeah, the radioactive spider I collected?

It disappeared.

I know what you're thinking—how the hell does a spider just disappear?

Honestly? No clue.

The only explanation I have is that Anansi had something to do with it. I even tried tracking it in Spider Hunter form… nothing.

It's nowhere on this planet.

Or maybe… it's just hidden.

Either way, it sucks—I didn't even get to run all the tests I wanted on it.

anyway, Two months had passed, and things had been going smoothly. My influence had grown, my team had been progressing, and my company, Omnitek Nexus, was thriving. But as the world kept changing, I knew I couldn't stay stagnant. It was time to level up.

I called upon the System.

"System, use points."
