"Let's get the people out of the town. The town is no more. We've lost our home already. Let's go!" Muye instructed him to his surprise. His younger sister had grown over night. Millan said nothing but alighted to her command as he was still shocked internally; his twelve-year-old sister just spoke like their mother. She was amazing!
"To the mountain!" Millan shouted for everyone to hear. No one questioned his outcry, they just obeyed. None could care that a teenager was saving them at that time. Everyone who could survive the clutches of the Grigonians ran to the commands of the two children. Surprisingly, the kids were able to direct the village members to the mountain that separated Orchen Island from the rest of the islands safely.
"Muye! We made it! Let's go!" he paused when he realized the hesitation in her actions. "I know this island holds all our sweet memories but we have to go before those beasts find us. The evil men too will find us."
"What are you talking about?" One of the village members heard. "Are you saying that all this happened because of you two. We lost our homes because of you?"
Muye looked at the man surprised at his brazenness to quickly turn them into the bad guys. Yes, he was right but he was so quick as though he was waiting for anything to happen just to imprint them evil. In just minutes, the whole group was turning against them. She inhaled and exhaled heavily.
"Brother, am going back to get what Mama told me. I will be back in a jiffy, I promise."
"Let me go with you."
"No! I hate to say this but they still need you here in case the creature finds you." She spoke while glaring at the man who seemed aimed at them.
"Everyone, let's wait for her. She will make it quick." Millan requested as Muye was few feets away but the replies of the villagers broke their hearts. She wondered what kind of people they have been living with their whole lives.
Some refused because of fear of the Grigonians while the rest where just pinning the blame on the two children.
"We cannot afford to be hurt again at your expense. If it weren't for you two…. Why did the couple have to protect you?" the man paused after saying that. The statement seemed simple but there was more to it.
"Stop Jing Ho!" one of the elderly women reprimanded the heat up man. Millan was shocked to his sayings.
"What do you mean, sir?"
"Nothing!" he said and then changed the topic. "Everyone, let's go. We won't wait for our deaths." All the villagers picked their few belongings and went for the boats ashore. Millan and Muye had been able to mobilize some boats with the help of other teenagers and youths. Millan looked at the leaving members and remembered the words of Morden their father.
'No one is on your side when you are in deep shit. So, remember to swam up on your own. You are your own strength. Your values and virtues are your strengths.' Morden smiled and tapped him on the back then tucked him to bed to have some sleep.
"You were right Father." He spoke then turned and found a safe cave spot to wait for his sister. The shore was not in his view as he closed his eyes and meditated partially. His meditation was not complete since his mind was not completely open and free.
Muye returned to the bakery to get what her mother had instructed her. Despite the fact that the Grigonian was still at work of destruction, she walked in and searched the cupboard. Fortunately enough, the bakery was burning but the cupboard was still intact. She ruffled fast and retrieved the bag and box that were written on 'For Darling'. Making sure that she has everything she struggled through the premises to return to the foot of the mountain, but it was not a piece of cake.
...…
"My princess, you should not go out. I will be scolded for your dispatcher. Please stay!" a teen girl begged a fair-skinned teen girl who just smiled and ignored her pleas.
"I will be back soon, Michin. Just cover up for me, okay?" Michin sighed dejectedly and knew she was in deep shit now.
"C'mon my friend." Michin rolled her eyes internally knowing well what happens when the princess calls her 'friend'.
"I will try." Michin finally accepted and turned around as the princess climbed down through the window.
"Wait for me. I, Souhee will be there soon." She smiled confidently and hurried out. She was dressed differently to disguise.
Unbeknownst to her, a middle-aged man was watching her. He exhaled heavily and called for a guard.
"Call me the Queen. Inform her it's urgent."
"Yes, Your Majesty." The guard bowed to the king and moved out as fast as he could.
...…..
"God, I hope my sister is fine. Should I have gone with her? Damn I have not protected her!" Millan was still yelling at himself when a familiar soft voice chuckled at him. On turning, he was surprised to alight his sight on her. He hugged her.
"I'm glad you are alive. I thought I lost you too. I'm sorry I didn't come with you." He almost rapped everything.
"It's okay brother. The present says I am alive so just chill. Okay?"
"Did you find it?"
"No." That shocked him. Does it mean his sister risked her life for nothing? Muye giggled at his expression and continued.
"No, I got them." He laughed at himself and immediately tried to catch her and teach her a lesson for teasing him. After the fun time, they sloped to the shore but to their surprise, there was no boat left.
"Did these people just take all the boats? How will we sail then?" Just when they were still puzzled on what to do, a Grigonian came their way in fury. Their eyes grew in shock. What were they going to do?
