Without thinking, Millan held his sister's hand and jumped into the water. The Grigonian was not a friendly beast that they could play a decoy on. It was an action beast that went straight to destruction when sent to action. Muye soon recovered from her shock as she spat out the water her small mouth had gulped when she crushed with the water.
"Swim Muye! Swim as fast as you can! It cannot go to water so we have to swim far enough." Millan shouted to her as his hands kept battling with the water to create distance from shore.
Their swimming was strong fortunately saving them from the grasp of the Grigonian. Five years back, Arshey and Morden trained them swimming hence they gradually became strong swimmers at a young age. After two hours of swimming, they alighted their sight on a small island.
"Over there!" they both shouted at the same time earning themselves a series of laughter. They swam to the block of island that was only one meter wide.
"The box! I hope they are still intact." Muye spoke while checking the things she had rescued from the fire. The box had a red cloth with a symbol on it that seemed to represent a trident with the star and sun on it.
"This is familiar to me. I have seen that sign somewhere." Millan thought to himself. "But where?" he accidentally thought out loud.
"What are you talking about?"
"Nothing. Just I thought I had seen that sign before."
"Really?"
"Never mind I do not remember."
The bag had a book in it with a title 'For you my Darlings' in their mother's hand writing. The book had instructions of what to do and had information of a quest that was coming their way. Details about the kingdom they must go to were included and a map.
"Wait! Those are letters for us? Wow! They knew this would happen one day."
"I guess so." Muye affirmed.
"I cannot believe those people took all the boats."
"Those are bygones now. They are no longer family to us so let's focus on the real deal here. We have to swim to shore. According to the map, it may be a three-hour swim. So, we must begin now." Muye suggested. She was being a grown up every single moment that flew by. Millan noticed that.
"Okay." Was all he answered.
They began their journey but they were getting weary mid-way. Seeing another block which seemed half the previous one, they both swam to it without signaling each other. They hang on it for ten minutes and continued the swim in silence. After a tiresome swim, they finally reached ashore.
Sighing a breath of relief they both collapsed their bodies on land with accomplishment smiles on their faces. After an hour of rest, they walked to the sounds of people they heard. Before they mixed into the people, Millan came to a halt.
"What?"
"Mom said that we should not trust anyone."
"You are right Millan, but we need resources and a place to stay." She paused then continued. "Books are good sources of information so we need to access bookshops."
Millan just kept silent and looked away. She knew what he was scared of. Slowly, she walked to him and held his hand.
"Brother, you are never going to lose me. We have each other now and I am going to be safe, okay? Trust me, trust US." Millan sighed and nodded in agreement.
"Fine we should first find out who wants us dead and also a free land for shelter." They both agreed to his suggestion and continued into the multitude of people. Their clothes were still cold so they needed new clothes.
"We have no money. But we need new clothes."
"I guess we have to steal."
"What? Hell no!"
......….
"When can we meet again?" Souhee asked a skinny but good-looking boy. He smiled at her with his handsome smile. His lips were peach and hearty. Her heart thudded at his smile making her blush and look away shyly.
"I will come to your window and bring you some of the fruits I will get from where am going." He promised her as he tucked her loose hair strands behind her ear. His actions made her feel special.
"My princess, please hurry we must return fast."
"C'mon Michin. Just more five minutes."
Michin felt at a loss as she knew that if they were caught. The princess was only going to be scolded but her, Michin, would be punished severely.
"Souhee is out again. She has not yet been completely rendered useful to the court and she is just causing trouble. What if they find out she is still powerless? She will be vulnerable and we will be considered weak." The king shouted angrily as Nagjari sat silently on the bed. She knew he was completely pissed off.
"I do not know what to do with that daughter of yours." He shouted but his statement made her fume inwardly. She stood up angrily and flounced away causing Holtrin to pause in his words. He sighed heavily realizing what he had done. Every time he was angry, he would refer Souhee as not his.
"Pou!"
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"Find that boy's information."
.....
"Oh! Finally, we have clothes." Millan exclaimed. Muye glared at him.
