Chapter 8: Trouble

"Not everyone is understanding and loyal."

--...…

"What are you up to?" Millan asked Huchin who was busy rubbishing the whole place.

"Come! Come and help me! I think I know where the part of the book is."

"Part of the book? Why just a part?"

"Didn't you guys know that the book exists in three parts? The other part is with an old knowledgeable witch who was banished from the kingdom." Huchin sat Millan down and began explaining to him the history about the book. "One part was kept with my family the magic guardians and the other one is with that witch I have told you. Then the other one is lost. Even I cannot trace it."

Millan thought carefully and asked wisely. "Could it have disappeared on the night that the great witch was killed?"

Huchin was amazed at his wisdom. He nodded affirmatively.

"Then where is this witch found who was banished?"

"I do not know. No one knows."

"The third part must be with one of the children who were sent away that night." Millan stated to Huchin's surprise. He knew something was different about Millan today but he did not pry much about it.

"Hi guys….. whoa what happened here while I was gone. Why is everything a mess? Where we robbed?" they both shook their heads and explained what was happening. She laughed at their manly action.

"How can you search for something while disorganizing everything? Let's check the best way and that is first organizing then continuing the search. Okay?" they both nodded at her sensible speaking like children.

Their search was fruitless for some days but giving up was not an option. Days turned into weeks; weeks turned into months but still their search remained fruitless.

Sighing heavily, Millan was extremely exasperated at their results. He felt they were behind schedule while their hunters were still at large searching for them.

"We are still powerless!" he shouted his exasperation making the two stared at him in shock. Muye exhaled slowly and walked to him. She caressed his back trying to calm him down for he was anxious.

"Brother, we are not completely powerless. We have some magic books at least. Try to not stress yourself and cool okay. Please!" he was not in the moods. He cast her arm away and looked in her eyes. He shook his head in denial and calmly as he could, explained his reasons.

"No! no Muye! We are not at all safe. I cannot protect you in any way. I cannot hold a sword I cannot practice magic and these men they are mighty sorcerers. I feel helpless sister." He exhaled lightly as he finished reasoning out his thoughts. She cupped his face and assured him how important he is. Angrily, he moved away from her and screamed. He knew no one could here anything if they were in the basement.

Unknowingly, he shouted and some sparks of fire flew from his hands falling on a book. This alerted them and they immediately ran to the rescue of the book. Astonished at what he had done, he froze at his spot for minutes. After extinguishing the book with a mini-blanket, they turned to him requesting for explanation but he just walked past them as he had nothing to tell them and walked out of the merchant house.

Roaming around the town, he found the three girls who had helped them with the clothing issue. He tried to avoid them but they had already seen him.

"Millan!" Kaisen called out to him and they walked to him faster than he had anticipated. With a winsome smile he greeted them and informed he was on time to somewhere. He lied just to go somewhere far but they were not ready to let him be.

"Where is Muye?" came Kaisen. He knew what she wanted the moment they called him so he wanted to avoid but he was now stuck with the fix. As he was still contemplating on what to do, Muye walked to them with the most beautiful smile he had ever seen on her. They all stared at her without blinking. She was clad in her male silk outfits in jungle green shades.

"Hello Kaisen. We meet again. I was looking for this brother of mine. He seems to be missing the girls tha I." Muye teased practically. The girls giggled at her words and looked away shyly. Muye tagged on Millan and held his hand firmly.

"Sorry ladies but some family business is going on here so I request to steal this gent here if you don't mind." Before the girls could answer, she pulled him away. Screams made them to halt in their steps. On turning, a scene of men trying to harass the girls lay before them.

"We have to help them." Muye chided fast. Millan was soon active as he saw Kaisen being molested by a tall gruffy man. The siblings ran to the scene and fought the men. In the course of fighting, Muye exploded lightly making them fall including Millan. This time Millan stood up fast at her surprise and immediately threw a wind ball to the men making them stumble and falling hard earning them wounds and fractures. Aimlessly, the men tried to run but they were so weak and hurt to do so.

Millan pulled Kaisen and the girls away to secure their safety. The girls were dumbfounded as though lightning had struck them. Unbeknownst to them, someone had witnessed their fight and knew they resided with Huchin.

"You are sorcerers?" The question slid out of Kaisen's lips earning them a great silence so grave. Muye looked at Millan requesting for permission. Millan nodded affirmatively.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Kaisen shouted at them. They were now standing by the lake where no one was providing the needed space to talk.

"So, you could report us to the authorities?" It was Muye's time to burst out. "You told us you were with the authorities. What did you expect us to do? Anyways, we met once. Did you expect us to just tell or trust you at first time?"

"But I trusted you!"

"That was your choice!" Muye retorted back. This struck Kaisen like a lightning bolt. She nodded her head dubiously and ran away.

"That was a bit harsh to her. You did not have to hurt her feelings she has gone through a lot." One of the girls by the names Pipi, said and followed Kaisen. The other girl followed suit. Muye exhaled realizing how long she was not breathing without even knowing it. A lone tear slid down her left cheek.

Their walk back to the merchant house was silent. Abruptly, someone pulled them to the back of the building.

"Huchin! Why are you-."

"They are here. You must not enter. Come with me and we enter the basement from this side. He gave them the first part of the book. He had found it after the fire incident. Somehow, the outrage of Millan, made the book to rise from where it was.

"You mean you found it because of me?"

"Yes. I think you are a wizard not just a sorcerer. Take these and go. I will handle the rest. Remember our conversation about the island?"

Muye thought and her mind clicked something. "I think-." Before she could complete, the basement opening was flicked open forcefully.

"They are down there." A female voice sounded making them realize someone had betrayed them and led the men to them.

Will they be captured
