Chapter 9: Find it!

"Go, go now! I will handle the rest just go and find it!" Huchin commanded them and immediately tossed a bag to them. "It has everything you need. The books of magic I could find helpful and-. Remember you must find it. I will be here by the time you are back." He assured them and sent them away. There was no time to complete all he wanted to tell them. The two did not have time to say their gratefulness to him; they had to run for now.

Muye looked at the merchant house from a far distance and made a silent vow to herself as she looked grudgingly at the palace that could be noticed from a further distance from the town. Millan could not decipher her feelings now but there was no time to ask so he just focused on preparing the boat. Once it was ready, he beckoned her to hope in which she did silently and fast.

...…

Holtrin trashed the things that where on the table onto the ground. He was obviously furious with invisible fire burning within him as though he was burning in hell fire and was ready to spread it to his surroundings.

"How could you let them get away? They were right under our noses for all this time!" He shouted the last statements with venomous eyes that could devour whoever crosses his line of territory. His queen walked into the room and was astonished at the sight of the study room mess. She immediately shot her eyes at her husband and noticed how pissed he was. His temper made him look like a devil incarnate. She shuddered a bit when he trashed more things onto the ground.

The men just remained motionless on their knees in front of his desk. He felt like slaying them but he knew better. Although he could have this temper towards them, he could not lay a finger on them because the cabinet would attack him immediately. These men where secret order sorcerers who were used in major issues just like twelve years back.

Flashback…

"Will they help? Aren't they forbidden in the kingdom?" Holtrin asked one of the witches who persuaded him to take over his brother's position.

That fateful night, he met with these men who were secretly trained by the witches and were made sorcerers. Witches and wizards were born but sorcerers were made. These men were a total of thirty who were highly dangerous and powerful because black magic was used on them.

The thirty who were called the Necromancies, attacked the kingdom as they were celebrating the birth of the prince and grand witch. The two children were born on the same day as Sotchai had announced to the queen on one of their adventures so they arranged an event. Unbeknownst to them, their siblings were planning something hideous towards them. Sotchai could have realized but Nagjari had fed her a drug for a month before the event to numb her far-sight abilities partially.

When they found out about the attack, Sotchai and Parin the late king had to save their children. All who rebelled against the new king were killed and new rules were set. Harshness was a plain facet in the rules.

Holtrin screamed even more when he remembered the incident. He felt that the late witch was still outsmarting him even in death. The mere thought was driving him crazy.

.....

"How sure are you that it exists?" Millan could not help but ask. Muye knew her brother was just trying to be cautious but his misbelief was irking her every flying moment. She turned to him swiftly and tried to calm herself but to no avail.

"Could you please have a little faith?" She could not prevent herself from shouting at him. Regret filled her afterwards for shouting at him but there was no time to cry over spilled milk. He stilled for a moment as he realized she was holding back more fire. Involuntarily, he nodded affirmatively to prevent the fire from igniting more. She looked away inhaling and exhaling and continued meditating. Recently on their mini-voyage, she was most times meditating as she learnt from Huchin that meditation was an important act in mounting one's magic and concentration.

They had sailed for two full days and nothing they had spot. Muye claimed that she knew an island for the witches existed. Her proof were the stories of Arshey their deceased mother. She believed that Arshey's stories had hidden meanings the more she thought of them.

On a previous day, she had narrated one of the witch land stories to Millan but he seemed not convinced as he thought those were made up stories of their parents. He had answered, "Those were children made up stories for you to sleep." His response made her frown and she turned from him angrily.

After the shout out of Muye, they remained silent for the rest of the day. The night finally receded the bright glorious day triumphantly displaying its amazing lovely stars.

Suddenly she stood up from her lotus position and jerked towards Millan with a broad excited smile. Millan could not put a finger on why she was so excited.

........

In the yellow-lit cave, the female cloaked witch smiled and chanted some unknown chants.

"You are almost my dear Sonaya." She spoke slowly but with joy evident in her voice.

Has she found it? Why is the lady happy? Who is she?
