Chapter 12: Hunters

"Sotchai, I am sorry I can't protect your daughter longer. She seems to be in the gates of the enemy and now she has to earn the rights to her fate. I hope my sons are fine and they are in position to help her." Mil Hi spoke as she looked in the mirror that held Sotchai's image.

Mil Hi was a very close friend to Sotchai and she was so powerful but the news of the attack reached her from a far place. She could not save her friend. It became one of her greatest regrets.

"Sonaya dear, time isn't on our side. Please speed up." She could only say. No one knew where she was apart from the queen who needed her for her selfish needs.

....

Muye was standing on a rock gazing at the sunset when he had footsteps approaching her. She turned and saw a face she had spent five years without seeing. A small smile tugged on her lips and slowly descended the rock carefully to meet them.

"I am so happy to see you again. How have you been?" Muye spoke in her now casual voice that held a mixture of her normal voice and made-up voice making it a soft baritone voice that any would fall for.

Kaisen glanced at Millan and began all while holding her pretty smile. "Muye, am also glad to see you again. I hope we can make up for the lost five years as friends." At that, Muye smile shifted for some milliseconds but she soon recovered her smile and held Kaisen's hands giving it a firm grip of silent reassurance.

"Millan said that you guys were going somewhere to repay a debt and that there is some truth you had to tell me before you go."

Muye froze slightly and realized the truth that Millan wanted Kaisen to know. She looked inquisitively at her brother who kept a nonchalant face that spoke clearly of what he wanted to happen. Exhaling heavily, Muye held Kaisen's hands once again and chose her words carefully trying not to hurt her.

"Kaisen, I hope you will understand why I; we had to do it. We were desperate and in fear. It was never an intention to hurt a friend in any way through lies. In advance, I am so sorry. The truth is I am a girl in male disguise." At the end, she cast the bomb and waited for it to erupt. As she closed her eyes, she felt the soft feminine hands slip out of hers which were now callused from all the training they did the past five years.

Few steps alerted her that Kaisen was backing away from her slowly but steadily. Her eyes flew open immediately though she dreaded looking her way to notice the hurt in the beautiful pearl eyes of Kaisen. The siblings stood rooted wondering what she was thinking. Kaisen felt a pang of pain as at one time she was falling for a fellow girl without knowing. The looks that Muye possessed could make even a girl jealous so no one could blame her for falling for Muye in male disguise.

A traitor tear escaped her left eye and dropped effortlessly down her smooth rosy cheek. "I'm sorry too." It was now her turn to throw a more damaging bomb.

......…

Before Kaisen's arrival, the two siblings had had a discussion and after realizing they were on the hunt again and still their positions remained the prey being chased. This had to stop. With determination laced deeply in her eyes, Muye suggested and they both agreed.

"Enough is enough! If they can't forget about us, then neither are we and we are changing posts in this game. We are the hunters!"
