Chapter 11: Hovering in battles

"Holtrin, what are you implying now?" she shouted angrily. "Why would Souhee be involved in that? She is a witch not some soldier!"

"She is not a witch! If she was, then why is it that she cannot practice magic, huh? Tell me!" he fired back angrily.

"But that is no excuse to send my daughter in battles with those merciless adversaries!" Nagjari could not understand how her loving husband could easily send their only daughter to battle yet she has no magic, yet.

Shaking her head disappointedly, she flounced away from the king's chambers. She stopped in her tracks when her sight suddenly alighted upon her somber faced daughter standing in front of the open door. Nagjari felt drowning as a mother; her daughter was hurting within. Instinctively, she tried to walk to her and comfort her but Souhee was no longer a child within unbeknownst to her. Her statement made even Holtrin turn and realize what had happened.

"I will go Mama. You need not worry yourself."

"But-."

"No buts Mama. I will definitely be fine. She smiled at her but sadness was registered in her eyes. Somehow somewhere deep within her, she wanted to hear her father refuse her from going but his smile proved her need pointless. Walking away from them, she headed to the royal library and met with her only friend 'Her big brother' as she addressed him.

With tears glistening in her eyes, she ran inside and embraced him in a hug. She continued sobbing in his chest making his chest constrict in pain because she was hurting.

"Long Zhi, I feel hurt. Why doesn't he care at all? At least pretense, but no. Anzhi why?"

"Anxie, look at me. He coaxed her and pecked her forehead softly making her close her eyes. "He may not care but remember that I will always be here, okay?" his words made her somehow calm and relieved,

"I love you." She said with a smile making his heart skip a beat. Deep he knew what she meant and it was not what he wanted but still he settled for their simple relationship even though he wanted more.

"I love you too." They embraced as they inhaled each other cologne and calmed until Souhee Xie slept. He carried her to his bed and let her rest more until he made sure that their path would be clear. Once he made sure, he carried her to her room, laid her slowly and tucked her into the fluffy and silky blanket. For a moment longer before he returned to his room, he sat beside her on the bed and sipped in her facial as long as he was able with a sweet smile plastered on.

Early in the morning, Souhee was prepared and dressed in her combat dressing. She still looked stunning and appealing. Long Zhi came to see her before she departed and reminded her that he will be waiting for her return. His words pushed her to survive in the battles.

Souhee became great as she fought and was surprisingly skilled and strong. He fragile looks would fool anyone but over the five years she spent in battle, she had developed to be strong. She studied the magic flows with long Zhi all the time she was free. In battles at times, she would use some magic. The army had become the only sector that respected her and adored her. She fell in love with the idea to be in the army even more; she felt free and loved. Yes, five years had flown by since she began hovering in battles. Despite that she still sneaked out of the palace.

...

"Happy Birthday Sister." Millan wished his sister. She chuckled and teased him.

"if someone hears you they will call you ridiculous. You know why?" Millan shook his head. "Because am a boy! Fool!"

Millan shook his head at his sister's words. He knew she was teasing him. For the past five years, they have been trading fruits and foods with different islands and kingdoms via water. Since they found the island, Muye remained posing as a male and they began trading. They occasionally visited Huchin. He kept giving them any book he recovered that spoke of magic and its history.

"By the way, I saw the Necromancies looking for us again." This shocked Muye as she turned to him wide-eyed.

What was happening? Even after the past years, they are still looking for them.

"We are still being hunted, now the hunter will become the hunted."
