Chapter Thirty-Seven
A Dangerous Obsession
Lior's POV
The garden was quiet, the scent of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers filling the air. The sun had already set, and the soft glow of torches flickered against the stone walls of the castle.
I sat on a wooden bench, a book open in my hands, though I wasn't reading.
My eyes were elsewhere. Watching.
Pack members passed by in the distance, their conversations filled with his name.
Hunter.
Even after everything, even after he had let Zara leave, they still spoke of him with admiration.
I clenched the book tighter, my fingers curling around the worn edges of the pages.
They still saw him as a leader.
They still saw Zara as his mate.
They still praise him as the Alpha they all know.
I gritted my teeth, the rage simmering beneath my skin.
"That should have been me. I should have been the one who should be taking all the glory."
