A Battle of Wills
Zara's POV
I struggled against the chains, twisting my wrists, trying to loosen them. But they didn't budge.
I let out a breathless laugh.
It was ironic, really.
Chains. My whole life had been nothing but chains. Shackled by my fate, shackled by my father's rejection, shackled by my own damn curse.
"Let me break them," Vorgris growled in my mind. "Let me rip them apart."
"No," I whispered back. "Not yet."
The heavy metal door creaked open.
I didn't need to look up to know who it was.
Her scent hit me before I even saw her.
Cora.
My sister, the one I trusted but ended with betrayal.
She walked inside, slow and confident, like she had already won.
She stopped in front of me, crossing her arms. "Enjoying your new room sister?"
