Chapter Thirty-Five
The Alpha's Rage
Hunter's POV
Rage consumed me.
I roared, grabbing the nearest table and smashing it against the wall. Wood shattered, pieces flying across the room, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me.
How could I have been so stupid?
I let her go.
I let Zara go.
And now, she was back in the hands of the very people who had always wanted her dead.
Her voice still echoed in my mind, the way she had looked at me before leaving. The way she had yelled at me, saying she couldn't be mated to someone who would one day kill her.
I ran a hand through my hair, my breath heavy.
How the hell had she found out about the prophecy?
My jaw tightened.
How can she know I was her rival and who told her?
I lifted another chair and hurled it across the room. It crashed against the stone wall, breaking into splinters.
Behind me, footsteps.
