Reasonable and considerate,Help find grandson

"Are you a cleaner?" Seeing Rosalind, Nick wasn't particularly surprised.

All the living people here were his classmates, and he would eventually bump into them while wandering around.

"Yeah, I'm responsible for cleaning this room," Rosalind said, holding a broom and pointing to the shelves filled with sundries behind her, while anxiously staring outside.

This was a storage room, filled with cardboard boxes of various sizes on the shelves, presumably for storing documents.

"Why are you all hiding?" Nick asked in confusion. With their uniforms on and doing their jobs, the ghosts wouldn't harm them, yet Rosalind looked terrified.

"There's a ghost in the corridor. Whenever we wander around, it makes us go in circles," Rosalind explained.

Many classmates had been tricked by the ghost in the corridor yesterday and ended up in a sorry state.

Despite having uniforms, the ghosts still harbored malice towards humans. They wouldn't hurt you, but they would deliberately make things difficult and prank you.

That's why she had pulled Nick inside.

Nick knew she was talking about the ghost in the wall and said, "Don't worry, I've dealt with it. It won't dare to cause trouble anymore."

Regardless of whether she believed him or not, Nick asked, "Is Edwin responsible for the restroom area?"

"Yes, he's my roommate, but he didn't come back last night. You saw that black energy door, right? He's been trapped inside since yesterday and hasn't come out yet," Rosalind replied.

"He seems to have offended the ghost in the restroom. He might already be..." Rosalind knew about Nick's relationship with Edwin and didn't continue.

Nick's face darkened. "Can I get in?"

"No, the door's locked, and the key is with the dormitory manager in the lobby," she said.

As classmates, Rosalind wanted to ask the dormitory manager to save Edwin, who was trapped in the restroom.

But looking at the ghostly dormitory manager's bloody eye sockets, she couldn't muster the courage.

"Okay, thanks," Nick nodded.

Rosalind knew Nick was going to get the key and warned him, "Edwin has been in there for almost 48 hours. The chances of him still being alive are slim."

"Although this might make you angry, that ghostly dormitory manager is terrifying. If you anger her, you'll never get out of this building alive."

"It's okay. Ghosts are actually quite reasonable. You just need to talk to them logically," Nick said.

"???"

Reasonable?

Rosalind looked at Nick in confusion.

Nick waved and prepared to leave. "I'll be going now."

"Wait!" Rosalind called out to Nick, her expression pleading and terrified.

"What's wrong?" Nick asked.

Rosalind stepped aside and pointed to a messy shelf in the corner. "I can't organize this shelf. Every time I straighten it, the items get thrown out."

"The dormitory manager will be here soon. If she sees that I haven't cleaned up, I'll be in big trouble!" Rosalind's eyes were red with worry.

She wasn't sure if Nick would help her. They had almost no interaction in class, despite being classmates.

Besides, who would willingly provoke a ghost?

"Can't put them up?" Nick picked up a box of tape and placed it on the second shelf.

But the next moment, the box was flipped over.

At the same time, the entire shelf started to twist, emitting an eerie laughter. A pair of hands reached out from the shelf, grabbing the items and throwing them around wildly.

Obviously, Rosalind was being targeted by a shelf ghost.

As a human, she was helpless. She was crying in fear while constantly picking up the items and putting them back.

However, after two whole hours, the room was still in disarray. The shelf ghost was determined to torment her.

Rosalind broke down in tears and begged Nick for help.

The eerie laughter echoed in the room, filled with delight.

Nick fell silent for a moment, then smiled. "This is easy to handle!" He said, taking out the Bone-Crushing Hammer and the Human Bone Nail.

With one swing, the nail was inserted half an inch into the shelf! White smoke hissed out, and the ghost in the shelf let out a painful scream.

"Human, how dare you stab me?" The shelf shook violently, as if it were about to turn into a gaping mouth and swallow Nick.

Nick said nothing and swung the hammer again, driving the nail in another half inch.

"I'll tear you apart!!"

The response was another hammer swing!

As black smoke poured out, the shelf oozed black blood and became blurred and indistinct.

Realizing that Nick was a tough opponent, the ghost quickly begged for mercy. "Brother, brother, let's talk nicely. Don't hit me anymore! Another hit and I'll be annihilated!"

Its voice trembled with fear. Its initial arrogance and aggression had vanished completely.

Nick then smiled and said, "If you had talked like this earlier, everything would be fine. I'm actually quite easy to get along with."

The shelf ghost: "..."

"How much time do you have left?" Nick asked Rosalind.

"Five minutes," Rosalind replied, constantly checking the clock on the wall.

Nick turned to the shelf ghost and said, "You have five minutes to clean up this room. If there's even a trace of disorder and my friend gets punished, you won't live!"

How could the shelf ghost dare to resist? It was just an object imbued with ghostly energy for a long time, gaining autonomy and consciousness.

It wasn't even considered a real ghost and could only bully newcomers here. Facing a tougher opponent, it immediately backed down.

"I'll make sure it's spotless, brother! Don't worry!" As the shelf ghost spoke, the scattered items on the floor seemed to sprout legs, jumping onto the shelves and returning to their respective places.

Nick raised an eyebrow at Rosalind and said, "Ghosts are just like us humans. They bully the weak and fear the strong. If you're fiercer than them, they'll back down."

Rosalind was too surprised to say a word, thinking that one needed skills like Nick's to do that!

"I've solved your problem. I'll be going now," Nick said goodbye to Rosalind and returned to the lobby on the first floor.

The ghostly dormitory manager was just coming out of a room, dragging two incomplete corpses and throwing them into a meat grinder.

Nick approached and politely greeted her, "Hello, I'm back."

The ghostly dormitory manager ignored him and continued grinding the meat slowly.

"Excuse me, can I borrow the key to the restroom on the second floor? I need to use it," Nick asked directly.

The ghostly dormitory manager remained silent as if she hadn't heard him.

Nick thought for a moment and said, "I can make a deal with you." He then took out several ghostly coins.

The ghostly dormitory manager suddenly looked up, her eye sockets pitch black, with no eyeballs visible. "Do you want to save the boy in the restroom?"

Nick nodded.

"Help me find my mischievous grandson, and I'll give you the key," she said.

Nick's face lit up with surprise and joy. The fact that the ghostly dormitory manager said this meant that Edwin was still alive!

"Sure, where is your grandson?" Nick asked.

"He's very mischievous and often runs around everywhere. He might be in the basement, on the rooftop, or in some corner," the ghostly dormitory manager replied.

"You'll have to find him yourself."

"Okay, You can wait here," he said, meaning that he would only need to search within the building, which shouldn't be too difficult.

Nick turned and left.

The ghostly dormitory manager suddenly called him back and added, "Oh, and help me find my eyeballs too."
